Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive Project Buying Coordinator to manage the operational execution of new manufacturing projects. In this role, you will be the core supply chain representative within project teams, working closely with Engineering, Strategic Purchasing, and Quality. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all new components, prototypes, and initial production parts are ordered and delivered on time for project milestones. This role focuses on project timeline management, cross-functional coordination, and order execution using pre-negotiated vendor terms.


Key Responsibilities
•    Project Team Representation: Actively participate in new project launch meetings to understand timelines, bill of materials (BOM) changes, and upcoming material requirements.
•    Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the central link between Engineering (for technical specs/drawings), Strategic Purchasing (for contracted vendor selection and pricing), and the Plant Operations team.
•    Prototype & Trial Order Execution: Convert project blueprints and engineering requisitions into formal purchase orders (POs) for prototypes, trial batches, and initial production runs.
•    Timeline & Milestone Tracking: Track the end-to-end status of all new project parts, proactively identifying potential delivery delays that could impact project deadlines or product launch dates.
•    Vendor Delivery Management: Coordinate closely with approved vendors to secure order acknowledgments, monitor production progress, and expedite critical shipments.
•    SAP & Data Maintenance: Ensure the SAP system accurately reflects project order statuses, lead times, and initial material master data setup.


Qualifications & Skills
•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical/business discipline.
•    Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in project procurement, material planning, or R&D buying within a manufacturing environment.
•    Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP S$ HANA) and Microsoft Excel. Ability to understand technical engineering project timelines 
•    Core Competencies: Exceptional cross-functional communication and coordination skills. High organizational ability to manage multiple moving parts across different departments.

Generating reports, analyzing reasons for the shortfall, developing systems, and installing procedures/processes to achieve the targets.
Reviewing material availability and production completion on time, defining procedures, stabilizing processes for material ordering, order acknowledgment, and tracking in-transit material and arrival.

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field or local equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional level experience
