Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Establishing the supplier sourcing strategy, identifying and managing the customer needs, and deciding the strategic suppliers accordingly to maintain the product footprint.
- Monitoring the negotiation of raw materials, preparing the RFQs in alignment with the supplier strategy, and assisting with make or buy analysis.
- Driving the teams for savings and spending reduction initiatives, improving material productivity, and ensuring compliance with the regulatory standards of the suppliers.
- Leading the optimization of supplier footprints, monitoring the supplier consolidation activities, and setting up the new suppliers in alignment with the strategy.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor's Degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of purchasing, supply chain, Procurement Project or Project Buyer. At least 2-3 years as Strategic Buyer. Sourcing Supplier strategy experience.
- Fabricated Metals Industry. Experience in Automotive industry (desirable) ***Must have experience in Casting, Machining and Fasteners fabrication processes.
- Strong experience participating in VAVE projects
- Strategic mindset with strong communication and intercultural skills, ability to adapt and work with team members in various countries / cultures
- Strong analytical & negotiation skills. Able to negotiate commercial terms in contracts with suppliers
- Able to negotiate with key internal stakeholders as well as management team
- Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point. Experience with MS Project as well as SharePoint is a plus.
- SAP knowledge a plus
- Traveling up to 25% of time, some international travel is involved.
• Valid US Visa is a must.
