Job Description: 

Job Overview

• Supports team in performing the key commercial aspect of purchasing such as timely responding to New Projects related enquiries for seeking techno commercial proposals from suppliers.
• Driving supplier selection, sourcing price negotiation, new material coordination, global/regional coordination, and new supplier onboarding.

Responsibiilities

• New Projects Sourcing for Raw Materials & Tools .
• Follow TE’s sourcing process for all new spend (pre/post RFQ approvals)
• Coordinate with CFT to decide make or buy strategy
• Decide suppliers in line with commodity strategy for floating RFQs
• Evaluate the offers from supplier & share the most appropriate offer for costing consideration .
• Independent handling of series and prototype requests taking into account the requirements of drawings, specifications, deadlines, quality & cost of materials & capex taking into account the global and regional purchasing strategy,
• Present the business case to Sourcing Committee for all the proposals & get it approved
• Ensure all the material is as per specifications & all the requirements are met – get this approved from PE/Quality team
• Ensure the ramp up plan is met by the supplier as per customer demand
• Define the supplier base gap periodically in line with the upcoming new projects & involve commodity team in order to find suppliers to cater this
• Complete legal requirements, price benchmarking & initial assessment of the new suppliers
• Align project timing with core team to allow sufficient lead time for sourcing activities

• Creation of quotation packages for the awarding scope of the new projects, negotiations with suppliers and creation of benchmarks in cooperation with the Lead Buyers
• Proactive analysis of gaps and opportunities and conduct of project specific negotiations in alignment with the commodity lead buyer
• Cost structure analysis, control of quotes in relation to total cost
• Preparation of sourcing recommendations based on total project lifetime cost, and project risks

Education and Knowledge

• BE/ B.Tech ( Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics ) Or Bachelors Degree from Govt. Recognized University.
• Knowledge about various phases of product realization and product development.
• Knowledge of local/regional/global supplier base for cable assembly components or electronics is a plus.
• SAP knowledge.

Critical Experience

• 5 + years’ experience as Buyer or Commodity Buyer within Automotive or Electronics industry.
• Experience in supplier selection and development of components /parts as per Automotive standards.
• Previous experience in working with multi-disciplinary cross functional engineering teams and coordination with affiliate local/regional or global procurement teams.
• Experience in cost structure analysis (electronics, Electrical parts and cost reduction programs.
