Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Staff Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer specializing in machining operations to lead the development, optimization, and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes. This senior-level position will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support new product introductions, and provide technical leadership across machining operations.

What your background should look like

Education & Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
•    7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with focus on machining processes
•    Proven experience with CNC machining operations (screw machine, milling, turning)
Technical Skills:
•    Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Mastercam, Esprit or similar)
•    Strong knowledge of machining parameters, tooling selection, and fixture design
•    Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems
•    Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
•    Knowledge of GD&T, inspection methods, and metrology equipment

•    Excellent project management and organizational abilities
•    Effective communication and leadership skills
•    Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
•    Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
•    Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies, both machining and metrology
•    Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
•    Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing industries

 

Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Optimization:
•    Design, develop, and optimize machining processes for complex components and assemblies
•    Lead process validation activities and establish process control parameters
•    Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
Technical Leadership:
•    Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and manufacturing teams
•    Lead cross-functional teams for new product introduction (NPI) projects
•    Collaborate with design engineering teams on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives
•    Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues
Manufacturing Support:
•    Support production floor operations with technical expertise and troubleshooting
•    Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects
•    Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and tooling
•    Lead cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards
Project Management:
•    Manage multiple projects simultaneously with defined timelines and budgets
•    Interface with suppliers and vendors for equipment procurement and process development
•    Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project status updates for management
