The CoE EMEA Molding Engineer is responsible for initiate, develop and execute projects   within molding Sensors EMEA. The main area of activity is optimizing and standardizing of all molding production departments to align them to reach the excellence requirements and to develop future concepts and processes.The project focus is on accordance with the molding road maps.

Your main tasks:

  • Optimization and standardization of our molding processes in Sensors EMEA (molds, processes & methods)
  • Monitoring, controlling and reporting of running projects
  • Customize the projects to plant individual needs
  • Developing of new concepts for molding processes and production together with the Center of Excellence (CoE), Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Tool & Die (T&D)
  • Standardization of machinery and peripheral equipment
  • Rolling out best practices (SDP) and CoE projects across all Sensors EMEA locations
  • Developing and rolling-out molding strategies, footprint optimisations and roadmaps
  • Supporting production capacity balancing in our day-to-day work and develop processes & features with increased flexibility (Ramp-up, Ramp-down, End-of-life-management)
  • Driving initiatives for plant productivity increase, automation, material saving, and cost reduction
  • Instructs department leaders and plant managers in aligning molding activities with management goals and expectations as well as the roadmaps and strategies
  • Participate regularly EMIA-meetings and workshops with all department leaders to ensure knowledge share and actuality
  • Participate to the development & execution from the molding excellence process
  • Supporting the manufacturing management in terms of budgeting, CAPEX planning and allocation of equipment as well as the resulting roll out and execution activities
  • Collecting and providing all needed basic production equipment data e.g. machinery and equipment details (specs, condition and aging information)
  • Monitoring of all production assets in terms of availability, condition, replacement needs and providing proposals for replacements and additions
  • Supporting localisation and regionalization programs
  • Providing support as needed in supplier development
  • Collaborate and support product engineering (PE), manufacturing engineering (ME), Tool & Die (T&D) and CoE to improve design for manufacturability (DFM) and to develop new concepts.

 

 

Your ideal profile:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree (mechanical or plastics engineering)
  • 5+years of experience in various Engineering or Process Development assignments.
  • Automotive industry preferred.
  • 5+years of experience in Automotive molding (TE molding is preferable)
  • 2+years of management experience in a production environment
  • Strong background in technical concepts and in machines / tools /production
  • Base knowledge of Operational Excellence and Lean tools (Six Sigma degree is preferable)
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player
  • Showing maturity and leadership to the plants
  • Six sigma education and attitude (GB or BB)
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Mobility and willingness to travel (up to 30% from the time)
  • The function will report solid line to Manager Molding Sensors EMEA.
