Sr. R&D Product Development Engineering is responsible to develop for new products and sustenance of existing product lines. This position drives development of Low voltage / High Voltage / Charge Inlet / Infotainment Connectors.

Job Requirements

• Lead the Product Development / Product Design projects
• Facilitates development processes, coordinate for materials selection and component integration
• Convert customer and market requirements into product design.
• Responsible for release of Product Design, CAD models & Drawings
• Apply Six Sigma / Quality methodologies to design, development and delivery of technology products and process.
• Drive to implements DFM (molding, stamping & assembly) methodologies to standardize product designs and reduce cost
• Work closely with customer/sales/Project Management in getting the VOC (voice of customer),
• Maintain On Time, On Quality & On Cost for all development projects
• Preparing design verification test plans, Design & participate to prepare  Process FMEAs
• Contributing to technical function initiatives across various initiatives

What your background should look like

EDUCATION & CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• Min 7 years (for BE / B.Tech from Mechanical stream or equivalent) of relevant experience
• Min 5 years (for M Tech from Mechanical stream or equivalent) of e relevant experience

Mandatory:

1. Working knowledge of product development (Processes, Approaches, Tools and Techniques) & Validation
2. Working knowledge of manufacturing process like injection Mold, plating, assembly & High-speed stamping
3. Working knowledge to apply Six Sigma / DFSS  methodology to design, development, and delivery of technology products and process.
4. Working knowledge in use of CAD systems (CREO Part modeling & Sheet Metal)
5. Interpretation of simulation results & translating into product design
6. Working knowledge in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & FMEA
7. Proficient in Tolerance stack-up and GD&T
8. Ability to generate design concepts and solve design problem
9. Working knowledge in prototyping methods
10. Working knowledge in Manufacturing process (Molding / Stamping / Plating)
11. Understanding of linear and non-linear analysis
12. Working knowledge of product life cycle.
13. Basic Knowledge in quality tools ( 8D, Why Why analysis, Fish bone….)
14. Awareness of recognition & protection of IP(intellectual property) features
15. Basic knowledge on PPAP documentation.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of customer’s application
• Experience in development of Electromechanical products like Connectors, Charge inlets & Relays

• Department specific:

• • • Exposure to High Voltage connectors and Creepage (EMC) calculation
    • Ability to understand specification for validation as per US CAR / LV 214 / Similar Specification
    • Knowledge about the crimping technologies, Ultrasonic welding technologies, Laser welding technologies
