Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer manages the technical execution to ensure alignment with manufacturing objectives and quality standards. This role is responsible for driving Lean manufacturing initiatives, including continuous improvement projects, process audits, waste reduction strategies, and efficiency improvements. The Senior Engineer works cross-functionally to identify and implement sustainable solutions that optimize operational performance, product quality, and profitability across production lines.

Additionally, this position is accountable for monitoring and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as First Pass Yield, Scrap/Yield Loss/Material Variations, Non-Conformances (NC) and CAPA closure on time, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), TEBIT, Engineering Orders on time, Validations on time, Machine Set-Up Time, cost reduction and process improvement projects, customer returns (RMA), and reportable health and safety incidents.

Job Requirements

  • Using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
  • Working independently to solve problems where precedents may not exist and providing new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Training or mentoring junior staff or new members and providing inputs on performance expectations.
  • Aiding project management responsibilities in absence of the team leader/ project manager.
  • Lead a dedicated team og engineers and technicians withnin the Project or Manufacturing Group.
  • Ensure engineers are fully integrated withnin the overall projects and production support team.
  • Plan and implement training and development plans for subordinates.
  • Complete process design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to team members.
  • Set engineering goals and objectives that deliver results aligned with the business plan. Identify
  • and establish permanent and effective technical/systems solutions to problems.
  • Consistently meet customer requirements and commit to performance excellence and deadline compliance.
  • Prepare products and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Uphold compliance with TE Connectivity's systems and processes.
  • Identify and develop improvements to increase key process metrics in Service, Delivery, Quality, and Cost using Lean/6 Sigma methodologies.
  • Research cutting-edge process technologies and evaluate potential competitive advantages and cost benefits of introduction.
  • Lead or guide a portfolio of projects in coordination with other resource management (e.g., NPI, Quality Engineering, Design Assurance, R&D, and other cross-functional departments) related to engineering. Work with the team to plan, coordinate, and implement activities supporting the successful launch of new products, including purchase analysis, new process introduction, and
  • others.
  • Develop/modify manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; networking and participating in professional societies.
  • Manage external relationships with key technology suppliers.
  • Manage the variable workload of Engineers and Technicians to meet operational requirements according to business priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee and drive validation activities, including IQ/OQ equipment qualification, OQ/PQ process qualification, process characterization, validation of attribute/variable test methods, and associated documentation.
  • Expert in topics related to the links between the Validation Master Plan, pFMEA, dFMEA, CAPA, NCE, Problem Solving, DMAIC, and risk management.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelors or Licentiate degree in an Engineering field or equivalent, with 5-10 years of experience in a demanding production environment, either high-volume or lowvolume/high-mix.
  • Proficient user of CAD tools, SolidWorks experience preferred. Skilled in Minitab, MS Project and advanced Excel.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean Engineering principles, with a solid track record of application and results delivery.
  • Statistical knowledge, including data analysis and use of statistical software (JMP, Minitab, etc.).
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of medical devices or similar quality and manufacturing systems is essential
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
