Job Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and customer-focused Field Application Engineer / Senior Field Application Engineer to bridge technical expertise with business impact across the customer lifecycle. The incumbent will partner closely with Industrial Automation customers, sales teams, service teams, and internal engineering stakeholders to support product adoption, resolve technical challenges, and influence solution development.

The role plays a critical part in both pre-sales and post-sales activities, ensuring customers receive high-value technical consultation, seamless implementations, and ongoing product success. 

Responsibilities:

Customer & Technical Support

  • Understand customer application requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.
  • Diagnose product and system issues and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout engagements. 

Pre-Sales & Post-Sales Activities

  • Support technical sales activities through product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Provide technical expertise during customer evaluations and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Assist with product installations, commissioning, deployment, and acceptance.
  • Support customers throughout the product lifecycle. 

Product & Service Support

  • Manage product-related service and sales support requests.
  • Recommend product upgrades, replacements, and solution enhancements.
  • Participate in product evaluation, inspection, validation, and testing activities.
  • Escalate and coordinate complex technical issues with internal teams. 

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Deliver technical training programs for customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Improve understanding of product features, technologies, and application best practices.
  • Develop technical documentation and application guidelines as needed.

Business Contribution

  • Gather customer feedback and market intelligence.
  • Provide field insights to product management and engineering teams.
  • Support product development and design improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to business growth through improved technical adoption and customer success.

Candidate Desired Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
 

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Field Applications Engineering, Technical Support, Systems Engineering, or other customer-facing technical roles. 
 

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical environments.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Product demonstrations
    • Installations and commissioning
    • Technical training delivery
    • Product lifecycle management
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capabilities.  

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional level experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
