Senior Project Manager (m/f/d)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Project Management Teams are responsible for managing the operational aspects of projects from inception through implementation. They coordinate cross-functional teams and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project teams and line management. Our Teams review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. They assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

 

The Senior Project Manager (m/f/d) owns the assigned projects and is fully responsible in terms of achieving customer milestones, cost and quality KPIs within a global matrix organization in a very dynamic automotive environment.

 

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Lead of key automotive development projects along the stages of the stage gate process
  • Set project schedule and milestones according to customer program timing
  • Ensure the projects are staffed adequately and support functional manager alignments
  • Lead project teams and ensure common understanding of project objectives and goals 
  • Be the major customer interface in terms of project progress and meeting coordination   
  • Monitor, meet or exceed Project KPIs in terms of cost, timing and quality aspects
  • Know the critical path, potential risks and ensure the availability of appropriate mitigations
  • Make sure potential change requests are clearly understood in all aspects and impacts are being considered and addressed accordingly 
  • Ensure the availability of all project required deliverables in time accordingly 
  • Present the projects to Project Approval Committees considering all relevant aspects 
  • Ensure a very structured, well documented and efficient stakeholder communication 
  • Steer resolution & escalation processes with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities in alignment with PjM community 
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and alignments between involved departments
  • Hold the team accountable and ensure a great and disciplined working atmosphere 
  • Ensure and support flawless serial launches and handover to Operations 

What your background should look like:

 

  • Engineering degree (Industrial, mechanical, electronics, or similar). Additional qualification in business administration or MBA will be appreciated. 
  • Multiple years´ of professional experience in managing complex technical projects in an international automotive environment 
  • PMP certification and experience in applying agile project management methods is a plus 
  • High level of motivation, assertiveness, commitment and self-starter mentality 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, open minded 
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels
  • Analytical, strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking
  • Very experienced in escalation- and conflict- management
  • Very good knowledge of English and German Language
  • Willingness to travel (25% to 50%)
