Senior Process Development Engineer Welding (m/f/d)

Job Overview

The current process repertoire consists mainly of metal-to-metal resistance welding and partly arc welding and TIG welding.

What you will be doing

  • Development, concept definition, specification, implementation, testing and release of manufacturing welding processes
  • Cooperation with product development to get early and well designs ready for manufacturing (concurrent engineering)
  • Definition, development, standardization, arrangement, implementation and testing (mechanical, electrical and software) of the welding process with respect of the manufacturing readiness level, cost of pure quality and first pass yield
  • Setup and release of processes and machines using: MSA, Capability study, ANOVA and another 6 Sigma Tools
  • Ownership of design rules for manufacturing, process and technology guidelines, check-lists, templates and lessons learned
  • Continuous training of employees and drive the exchange of experience
  • Work in an interdisciplinary international, worldwide team with project management, field application, product and process engineering, quality assurance and manufacturing
  • Ensuring high flexibility to meet internal / external customer requests
  • Standardization of machines, process specification, technology, materials and tools
  • System, requirement and test management for tooling, process and system, hardware and software
  • Implementation and support of sample, product and system launches and Software- and P-FMEA, DOE, risk-assessments, process and hazard analyzes
  • Support on the analysis of complaints and verification of corrective actions
  • Conducting market studies (benchmarking) to identify new process techniques and opti-mization potentials as well as cooperation in the creation of technology roadmaps
  • Development of ideas, patents and implementation of new innovations and concepts for future market requirements
  • Contact with universities and companies or other ways to be up to date with new and modern manufacturing technologies
  • Identification of suitable business partners & development of a network of internal & external experts, institutions, suppliers and stakeholders

What your background should look like

  • Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science or a comparable education
  • More than 3 years’ experience in engineering within the field of welding technologies
  • Certified Welding Engineer
  • Experience in several welding designs and technologies. Mainly resistance welding (wires of cupper and cupper alloys) and TIG welding (wires of chromium, nickel, iron and copper). Further welding technologies are highly welcome
  • Ideally you are DFSS Green or Black Belt or Red X certified
  • Knowledge about Quality Systems and international standards (IATF 16949, QCPC)
  • You work independently and on your own responsibility
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Travel requirement up to 10%, willingness to travel worldwide
