Technical Project Manager (m/f/d)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.


  • Responsible Core team member Product Engineering in a cross functional interdisciplinary project team
  • Responsible for system design (requirement management, application, mechanic, electronic and magnetic)
  • Technical interface to our customers
  • Develop new product concepts according design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing principles
  • Apply and develop modular design techniques
  • Ensure utilisation of design rules and lessons learned in new concepts
  • Realize first class design concepts using standard automotive and 6Sigma toolkits
  • Planning, tracking and realization of samples
  • Planning, tracking and review of verification and validation according product requirements
  • Documentation acording to IATF16949 and LEANPD (TE stagegate process)
  • Prepare and proceed risk analysis, FMEA, DOE


  • Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or comparable
  • several years of professional experience in automotive engineering, preferably in the field of engineering of electronic or electromechanical components
  • Fundamental know how of position sensors and sensing applications
  • Good knowledge of electronic assembly technologies
  • Good Knowledge of automotive standards (APQP, IATF16949, FMEA)
  • Strong ability to work in a team
  • High engagement, flexibility and resilience
  • Good Knowledge of standard MS applications (Word, Excel, MS Project)
  • Strong in communication
  • English and German at business level
  • Strong 6Sigma knowledge preferred (Black belt, Green Belt)
  • Good knowledge of ISO2626 (FuSa) is an advantage
