Job Overview

Responsibilities in this role

Manage group of process experts and the EMEA pilot shop

Conducting front end process development and feasibility studies incl. process specification definition, as well as integration of new processes into series production.

Overall responsibility of all manufacturing processes cross EMEA region

Develop skills and expertise of process development team

Benchmarking with external institutes

 

Technical Background and Knowledge

State of the art process knowhow like soldering, welding, glueing, potting, crimping, IDC, pressfit, stitching and process streams like stamping, plating, molding, assembly, cleaning.

State of the art engineering knowhow wrt products such as electrical connectors, switches, relays, cable assemblies, and ideally also for antennas, sensors, and wireless power transfer devices.

State of the art knowhow primarily wrt metals, but also ceramics, polymers, metal and fiber composite alloys as well as their scientific foundations in physics (mechanics and thermodynamics), inorganic and electro chemistry, tribology, metallurgy, and electrical engineering.

 

What your background should look like:

Professional Experience & Track Record

10-15 years’ experience in (automotive) design, product development, process development, and manufacturing of electrical interconnections, electromechanical components or mechatronic products. 

At least 5 years’ experience in leading international, multifunctional teams.

Demonstrated track record in crafting process innovations and getting them into production.

Proven success in building and growing teams. Both in quantity as well as skills. Manage team objectively and participating in all team management activities from planning to recruitment, resource development, encouragement and promoting.

Proven success in building and growing external relationships with universities, research institutes, and high-tech start-ups as well as driving innovation from those environments into the company and the market. 

Experience and knowledge in technology trends and in the automotive market.

 

Special Qualifications, Skills

Familiar with process development tools and project management.

Strong drive for results and taking ownership as well as being hands-on, customer focused, and a team player.

Candidates must be self-motivated and self-driven and be able to motivate and extract higher productivity from skilled staff

Excellent communication skills (spoken, telecom, written communication) in English and German.

Good thinker and strategist, with an ability to articulate thoughts well in team meetings; especially in dealing with related stakeholders such as customers, partners, suppliers and fellow team members.

Team work with TE’s technology research group, automotive development and engineering groups. Cooperation with other business units.

Continually update and manage process roadmaps to follow large scale automotive industry trends.

Positive attitude and displayed maturity in understanding that organizational goals and objectives take precedence over individual goals and objective.
