Job Overview

This position will work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations) to drive strategic sourcing and supplier development for tooling categories, ensuring alignment with BU priorities and achieving cost, quality, and delivery targets.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and hands-on, with solid experience in tooling procurement or manufacturing, strong understanding of tooling technologies and processes, and proven track record in strategic sourcing and supplier management.

Job Requirements

• Key Responsibilities
  Tooling Category Strategic Sourcing
  •    Develop and execute sourcing strategies for tooling suppliers.
  •    Manage end-to-end RFQ/RFI processes and lead supplier selection.
  •    Support tooling localization, supplier footprint optimization, and capacity expansion initiatives.
  Supplier Optimization & Development
  •    Identify, evaluate, and develop tooling suppliers with strong capability in technology, quality, cost, and capacity.
  •    Execute supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, and risk mitigation strategies.
  •    Drive supplier capability improvement in tooling design, fabrication, maintenance, and project execution.
  Technical & Cross-functional Coordination
  •    Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure alignment on tooling specifications, project requirements, and qualification plans.
  •    Support NPI, supplier transfer, and localization projects.
  Cost & Lead Time Improvement
  •    Lead tooling cost reduction initiatives through benchmarking, VA/VE projects, and supplier negotiations.
  •    Drive tooling lead time reduction and supply flexibility improvement.
  Supplier Performance & Risk Management
  •    Monitor supplier KPIs (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service).
  •    Conduct regular business reviews and drive corrective actions.
  •    Identify supply risks related to tooling capacity, lead time, project execution, and sole-source dependency.
  
  

What your background should look like

• Qualifications & Skills
  •    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  •    8+ years experience in tooling procurement, sourcing, manufacturing engineering, or supplier development.
  •    Strong knowledge of tooling technologies, including stamping tools, injection molding tools, die casting tools, fixtures, and gauges.
  •    Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and contract negotiation.
  •    Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  •    Ability to work independently and drive projects end-to-end.
  •    Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  •    Fluent in English (written and spoken).
