Job Overview

TE Connectivity (TE) Global Logistics, Americas has an opportunity for a Shipper / Receiver I.
The Shipper / Receiver performs all functions associated with material movement through the Distribution Center, including material handling, paperwork, and recordkeeping. Operates powered order pickers, forklifts, turret trucks, electric/manual pallet jacks, stretch wrapping machine, laser scanners, etc. May be required to lift to 50 lbs. and work on highs (up to 30 ft). Follows all DC procedures and demonstrates an understanding of DC standards and goals to achieve total Customer Satisfaction. Perform all functions accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for knowing and confirming the TE Connectivity Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.

Job Requirements

Shipping:
• Prepares cartons and pallet loads for shipment by attaching proper shipment documentation as well as carrier required documentation. Prepares unit load shipments with stretch wrap or banding.
• Generates manifests and bill of ladings for each shipment checking against actual carton count in staging area.
• Contacts common carriers to arrange pick up for shipments.
• Loads and unloads cartons to / from pallets, carts, or conveyor by using forklift and manual or electric pallet jack.

 

Lifting and Material Handling:

  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Occasionally lift materials weighing 51-75 lbs with proper mechanical assistance or team lifting
  • Perform repetitive lifting motions throughout 8–12-hour shifts
  • Move materials from floor level to overhead heights up to 30 feet using mechanical equipment
  • Maintain proper lifting posture: bend at knees, keep back straight, use legs for power
  • Grip and manipulate objects of varying sizes, weights, and shapes

 

Physical Stamina and Mobility:

  • Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods (6-10 hours continuously)
  • Climb stairs and ladders to access elevated storage areas up to 30 feet
  • Climb up into the operator’s seat for all types of PIVs (order pickers, turret trucks, sit down forklift)
  • Maintain balance while operating elevated equipment (order pickers, turret trucks)
  • Walk extended distances throughout warehouse facility (potentially 5-10 miles per shift)
  • Perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Work in confined spaces when loading/unloading trailers

 

Manual Dexterity and Coordination:

  • Operate handheld barcode scanners with precision and speed
  • Manipulate small parts and components for counting and sorting
  • Use fine motor skills for packaging, labeling, and documentation tasks
  • Coordinate hand-eye movements while operating powered industrial equipment
  • Type and navigate computer systems and SAP software interfaces

 

Sensory Requirements:

  • Visual acuity sufficient to read small print on labels, part numbers, and documentation
  • Color vision to distinguish product identification systems and safety signals
  • Hearing ability to detect equipment alarms, backup signals, and verbal communications
  • Spatial awareness to safely navigate warehouse aisles and operate equipment

 

Environmental Exposures:

  • Work in varying temperature conditions (potentially 40°F to 90°F depending on season)
  • Exposure to dust, cardboard particles, and packaging materials
  • Work around moving machinery and powered industrial equipment
  • Exposure to diesel exhaust from trucks and equipment
  • Work in areas with varying noise levels requiring hearing protection
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials requiring proper PPE protocols


 

What your background should look like

Typically requires 1-2 years of related work experience. Completion of high school or equivalent is required.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $43,200 – $64,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
