JOB OVERVIEW
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Job details:
•
product design responsibility for Relays
•
technical support for Sales Representatives, Field Application Engineers and customers
•
project management for dedicated projects regarding product’s cost efficiency and special customer requirements
•
support Product Environmental Compliance Coding (RoHS, REACH, California Prop65)
•
technical support on shop floor for Operations Teams & Quality Teams
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
•
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or appropriate similar one
•
minimum of 3 years’ experience in product design or product engineering & manufacturing environment
Requirements & Qualifications:
Basic requirements:
•
technical knowledge in product design, especially mechanical and electrical knowledge
•
experience in 3D & 2D design of mechanical components (stamped and molded parts)
•
knowledge of product development process
•
understand relevant standards and specifications of the low-voltage devices such as relays
•
basic knowledge of electromagnetism and materials e.g. resin, metals, …
•
good command in verbal and written English language
Additional requirements:
•
basic knowledge in Product Environmental Compliance (RoHS, REACH, California Prop65)
•
Experience in Microsoft Office applications
•
basic project management knowhow, preferred
•
Lean Design for Six Sigma knowhow, preferred
