Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Trade Compliance Teams interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:
 
Trade Compliance Activities in the BU
•    Manage a team of one person (Global Trade Services Analyst III).
•    Provide compliance oversight for Sensors BU to ensure TE’s compliance with export laws and regulations.
•     Act as a point of contact for BU stakeholders on trade-related matters.
•    Engage BU stakeholders and counsel to understand business changes and develop trade-related solutions/strategies and controls to ensure compliance.
•    In partnership with GTS Governance, establish and maintain relationships wit. trade-related government entities including local customs office Shenzhen.
•    Supporting customs and foreign trade audits, AEO audit, evaluating audit reports and corrective actions to ensure compliance in Sensors plant Shenzhen.  
•    Creation of work instructions and provide trainings to Sensors BU stakeholders.
•    Participating as GTS expert on projects in customs and foreign trade affairs (e.g. ERP automation, duty mitigation).
•    Support trade operations and compliance activities – such as sanction controls, review of end-use and end-user information - in accordance with TE policies, procedures, and controls, in collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the BU.

Successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills: 
•    6+ years’ experience in global trade compliance or customs and foreign trade.
•    Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in supporting trade functions within an industrial, communications, transportation, or similar business.
•    Solid knowledge of import and export regulations and familiarity with customs practices in China.
•    Functional knowledge of HTS classification.
•    Familiar with MS Office applications (especially Excel incl. Pivot tables) and experience with Power BI is an additional advantage. 
•    Analytical and process-oriented thinking, independent and structured way of working as well as a strong ability to work in a diverse team.  
•    Proven ability to work with variety of business groups, including supply chain, legal, procurement and finance.
•    Very good command of English (written and spoken). 
•    Solid communication skills to foster teamwork and interact efficiently with diverse teams across TE.  
•    Preferred: knowledge of IT systems such as SAP and other BI applications.  
•    Travel may be necessary in fulfillment of responsibilities.
