2 Job Scope
Main Target Summary Drives strategic, cost effective, sustainable resins selection that meet TE technology requirements.
Acts as interface for technical questions and support towards TEs Supply Base.
Responsible for key CL Resins KPIs such as Environmental compliance, Scope 3 Emissions reduction, Conflict Minerals and VAVE savings.
Tasks Summary & Responsibilities (please enclose organizational charts)
Owner of BU Resins platform (along with BU resins gatekeeper when available) as designated by Sr. Manager- Supplier Development. Responsible for creating and updating resins platforms that meets TE technology requirements, procurement strategic direction and sustainable resin selection.
Supports Technical workshops at BUs for VAVE and sustainability ideas.
Maintains GMSS for Resins and direct Chemicals. Responsible for maintaining and creating new PNs for resins and chemicals.
Gathers environmental compliance, conflict mineral, PCF information from suppliers when needed.
Reviews and make recommendations for resin selection in NPD.
Supports quality complaints as a resin expert and leveraging relationships with suppliers.
Train cross functional TE teams in basic polymer science, GMSS, and Resin platforms.
Develop succession plan for self.
3 Requirements for a typical Job Holder / Applicant (not the actual incumbent at TE Connectivity)
Educational Degree B.S. degree (or equivalent) in Polymer/Plastics/Chemical Engineering, or related field
Professional Experience (years in what processes and function)
Requirements:
At least 5 years of professional experience in polymer material selection or processing.
Knowledge of Environmental compliance and sustainability of resins.
At least 3 years of experience working with flame retardant additives or compounds.
Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated skills in a matrix environment
Expert knowledge on polymer materials and formulations.
Be familiar with polymer processing techniques such as injection molding, extrusion and compounding.
Ability to work across cultures and geographies effectively.
Basic knowledge about Problem Solving tools
Proficient in MS Office.
Presentation skills
Communication and negotiation skills
Coaching skills
Basic knowledge of environmental compliance such as REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals
Other important things to note Job requires regular travel
English fluent in written and verbal
What your background should look like
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
