Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

 

Job Summary: Provides the direction for optimum sourcing of the assigned commodities. The AP MRO Strategic Sourcing Analyst is considered the corporate expert for the assigned commodities and leads the development and implementation of the global commodity strategy in Collaboration with the Global MRO Commodity Strategy Owner to realize established goals and objectives on Tactical and Transactional Level. It is expected that the AP MRO Strategic Sourcing Analyst will have responsibility of managing RFQs, negotiating contracts, including terms and condition, and working in alignment with AP MRO strategic sourcing manager, regional indirect procurement leader and Global Commodity Director based on Global Strategy, by collaboration with Business Unit stakeholders and operation leaders. 

Responsibility/Job Complexity: 
•    Implement regional sub-commodity strategy based on global procurement strategy/ Objectives.
•    Drive Continuous supplier base and cost improvement.
•    Support Procurement digitalization projects like Robotic process automation, MRO integrator platform. 
•    Consolidate spending, identify opportunities and lead saving projects
•    MRO process governance and process compliance audit for assigned Business unit
•    Coordinate sub-region MRO buyers in process and saving projects
•    Other objectives assigned.

Required Job Family Skills: 
1.Strategic Sourcing: Experience of MRO sourcing strategy deployment in multiple and remote sites
2.Negotiations & Contract Management: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization. Manage contract renewals, terms, and conditions.
3.Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, regularly assessing their performance against agreed metrics and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
4.Data analytics, able to find opportunities and make decision based on data analysis. 
5.Procurement Process Improvement: Streamline procurement processes, implement best practices, and utilize technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Improve compliance and Ethics.
6.Market intelligence: Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and best practice in the industry. 


Very important – must have experience in Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions. Knowledge of inventory management principles and experience with ERP systems. Influencing others, driving implementation around supplier consolidation/best practices, drive optimization of materials being procured and should have good experience in managing change as well as developing and executing diversified supplier development strategies.
Must be able to partner with internal Business Unites, Communicate easily to upper management Level and Operation Leadership to obtain the best solution for TE. 
English and Mandarin are required, other languages will be beneficial (Japanese, Korean).
Able to influence and gain customer buy-in for deployment of strategies is an essential element for the successful candidate.

CAREER EXPERIENCE
Education/Work Experience:
BA/BS, + 5 years minimum work experience OR
MA/MS, + 3 years minimum work experience

Comments / Concerns

Working within a complex customer environment including collaborate cross BU, cross function and communication with leadership is a key critical skill.  Looking for a seasoned expert to work alongside other commodity peers.   Must be willing to travel 25-50% of time throughout China plants to meet with stakeholders, and to communicate and sell long term regional and global vision/strategy.
