Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with project management team to achieve technical request, project timing and cost target, support engineering in new product development (Joint development, private labelling and etc.).
  • Drive low cost localization, outsourcing and VAVE projects and develop capability of local supplier according to business needs.
  • Lead the cross functional team for the make-or-buy decision.
  • Establish, perform and monitor the regional sourcing strategy for key commodities and facilitate the global commodity strategies.
  • Align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, operation, product management and functional owners.
  • Execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and for assigned commodities among different regions and product lines for optimal TE leverage.

What your background should look like:

Qualifications:

 

  • At least 2 years of direct material or indirect (production assets) sourcing experience in transnational manufacturing companies
  • At least 1 years of souring experience in at least one of the categories including automation equipment, tooling/fixture, machining parts or electrical parts
  • Bachelor’s degree. Engineering degree is preferred
  • Fast learner in new product and new technology
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Team player, willing to lead and persuade
