Responsibilities:
•Studies test standard and provides expertise consultation for test engineer and product development engineer
•Develops and implements methodologies, processes, procedures, tools and systems that will improve the overall accuracy, speed and efficiency of testing or failure analysis processes.
•Negotiates with testing and product development engineer teams to harness knowledge and resources and apply effectively apply to successfully complete FA projects, activities, and requirements.
•Prepares FA reports to confirm technical accuracy around the consistent confirmation and analysis of customer failures in a timely and complete manner
•Employs data and metrics to measure and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of testing or failure analysis systems
•Conducts field failure trend analysis and help develop effective corrective actions to reduce failure rates
•Enhances the overall throughput and quality of FA reporting to provide the highest class of customer experience
•Interacts with functional groups at all levels to address and resolve critical product and customer issues
•Actively seek out and utilize technical expertise from within the company and from outside sources to assist in problem solving
•Develops new failure analysis procedures and tools then proliferate to the global failure analysis team for alignment
•Communicates suggestions to appropriate R&D, testing, manufacturing, or management team in an effective and appropriate manner.
•Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Qualifications:
•Bachelor of science degree in mechanical (with strong electronics knowledge), electrical engineering, physics or equivalent. Masters a plus.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with US and China teams.
•Minimum 10 year of experience in reliability engineering or design / field engineering
•Good knowledge of laboratory system requirement, ISO 17025
•Proficient in test standards such as EIA, IEC, etc.
•Excellent FA techniques at connector components and device level
•Experience conducting experiments and analysis of data to provide summaries as trends and distributions, familiar with Minitab and LabVIEW.
•Instrumentation skills with oscilloscopes, pattern generator, SEM/EDX, FTIR, thermal imaging, etc.
