Job Overview

Leads technical domain of singe/ multiple strategic development projects from initial ideation to final production.

Job Requirements

  • Connector research and development, include but not be limited:
    1.Technical communication with customer, confirm customer applications and technical requirements.
    2.Translate customer’s requirements into engineering specification and provide new product design solution in time.
    3.Responsible for part list/BOM building, 3D models and 2D drawings, GD&T, product specifications, application specifications, DFMEA, Tolerance analysis etc.
    4.Lead the design review for compliance with engineering principles, product standards such UL and IEC, customer contract requirements, verification and related specifications.
    5.Lead design review with cross functional teams to confirm the manufacturing and quality control feasibility.
    6.Leads DV/PV test, responsible for resolving product design and test problems.
    7.Responsible for FAI review, work with project team to release product in time.
    8.Interacts with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas during the pre-production stages of new products.


    Education / Knowledge:
    1. Bachelor or above in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience. Master’s degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level.

    2. Minimum 6yrs preferably 8yrs product development experienced in Power & Signal connector. Independent new product development experience is preferred.
    3. Knowledge of connector fundamentals, capable of connector component design, preferred that knowledge of power and signal connector application and international standards ex. UL and IEC.
    4. Familiar with DFMEA, FEA Simulation, GD&T, tolerance analysis, mechanics of plastic/metal materials, and basic knowledge in injection molding, stamping.
    5. Skilled in at least one 3D Software: Creo, Pro/E, Catia, UG or SolidWorks. Skilled of office software such as Word, Excel, PPT.
    6. Proficient in writing and reading English. Good oral English is plus.
    7. Good communication skills, high teamwork spirit and teamwork experience, ability to work with multicultural engineering teams and cross functional environments.
    8. Effective problem-solving skills, to be innovative, willingness/ability to deal with multiple products and assigned tasks.

    9. Knowledge of six sigma tools will be added advantage. 

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
