The Footprint Data Analytics Analyst/Specialist will play a critical role in optimizing the company's global manufacturing footprint and capacity planning across eight plants worldwide. This position requires a strong blend of data analysis, financial acumen, and project management skills to forecast capacity needs, analyze space dynamics, and drive data automation initiatives to support strategic manufacturing decisions.
Job Requirements
The primary responsibilities for this role are centered around data-driven analysis and forecasting related to global manufacturing operations:
Global Capacity Forecasting:
- Conduct detailed analysis and forecasting of production capacity for the next 12 to 18 months across all eight global manufacturing plants.
- Identify potential capacity constraints or surpluses and provide proactive recommendations to management.
Footprint Space Dynamics Analysis:
- Analyze the complex dynamics of footprint space capacity requirements driven by various factors, including:
New Product Introduction (NPI) programs space allocation.
Capacity expansion needs for existing products.
Space required for or released by product migrations across plants.
Analyzing and quantifying space needs for in-source and outsource activities. - Operations Data Collection & Cost Analysis:
- Systematically collect, validate, and manage plant operations related data, including:
Direct Labor (DL) and Indirect Labor (IDL) hours and costs.
Hourly rate costs for various labor categories.
Number of production lines, utilization rates, and cycle times.
Plant lease rate, ….
Other relevant operational and financial metrics crucial for footprint decisions.
Data Automation & Reporting:
- Lead initiatives to automate data collection, validation, and reporting processes using relevant tools (e.g., SQL, Python, ETL tools).
- Design and maintain analytical dashboards and reports (e.g., using Tableau, Power BI) to visualize footprint capacity, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across all analytical models and reports.
Strategic Support:
- Support the footprint strategy planning manager by providing data-backed insights on the cost and capacity implications of various footprint scenarios (e.g., site consolidation, new factory).
What your background should look like
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Finance, Business or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Capacity Planning, Supply Chain Analytics, or Manufacturing Operations Analysis, preferably in a global manufacturing environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Expert-level Excel skills for complex financial and capacity modeling.
- Experience with ETL processes and managing large datasets.
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for dashboard creation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, capacity planning, and cost accounting principles (DL/IDL, overheads).
- Experience in analyzing global manufacturing footprints and space utilization.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
