Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

The role of this position will be responsible for driving design-in at the early stage of programs, and executing conversion of the engineering pipeline into programs wins, thru the close working with AD&M target customers in China.  

Key Responsibilities:
•    Function as technical interface between customer and TE ADM. Establish relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers. Point of contact for various technical communications with key customers (COMAC, AVIC Airframers…) in China.
•    Collect voice of customer, understand customer’s product set and future roadmap, penetrate customer’s design cycle to identify current and future customer needs, and together with the customer find appropriate solutions (using either known or new technologies) for customer applications.
•    Collaborate internally with multiple departments to meet customer requirements and resolve design-level technical issues, prepare and present proposals (product selection, design solutions and technical materials) to design-in TE ADM products & solutions in line with the technology roadmap;
•    Teamwork with Sales & PM to actively uncover and convert NPI pipeline opportunities, articulate product value propositions based on customer needs, develop technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment.
•    Drive NPI Pipeline Growth and Design-Win Conversion; Oversee all new and existing sales and engineering projects from demand creation to production; Advocate best practice sharing and replicate success to win in the target markets.
•    Understand the customer, the market, competition, technology roadmaps and trends; Take lead on focus industry/application seminars, customer trainings and tech-days to promote TE ADM products & solutions.


Key Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge:
•    University engineering degree (Electronics, or aviation engineering preferred).
•    8-year+ professional level of FAE/Engineering experience.
•    Experience or working relationship with SOE partners or customers is a plus.
•    Understanding and ability to solve complex technical solutions.
•    Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with key stakeholders (inside and outside of TE).
•    High level of written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English.
•    Ability to work with deadlines and challenging targets.
•    Develop credibility & trust resulting in customer “buy in”.
•    Familiar with engineering & project management tools.
•    Willingness to travel as required.
