ROLE OBJECTIVE 

Overview: The senior manager of footprint strategy and planning is in charge of developing and executing BU Operations footprint short term & long term strategy and planning that aligns with business growth, cost efficiency, operational geo-resilience through cross functional collaboration and data driven analysis.

 

Job Requirements

  • RESPONSIBILITIES 
    •    BU Footprint strategy: Develop short term and long term global manufacturing footprint strategy, e.g. where to build plant, what to produce where.
    •    Footprint location analysis and scenario planning: Evaluate sites for new or expanded operations, and Develop scenario planning on customer ask, labor cost, talent pool, incentives, tax, infrastructure, risk, geopolitical, logistics, and supplier Eco-system to model different footprint scenarios.
    •    Product Footprint Strategy: Align footprint strategy with product manager and cross functions on new product and sustaining products, including make vs buy analysis.
    •    Capacity Planning: develop middle long term capacity based on NPI and Business Forecast / Growth, including core manufacturing processes and product assembly processes at global and plant level.
    •    Talent and Capability Planning: Develop workforce planning for new sites based on product & process & function / skill & volume, define the critical roles for ramp success with cross functions.

    •    Cross Functional Alignment: Collaborate with product manager, supply chain & procurement, plant operations, finance

     

What your background should look like

  • EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

    •    Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or Business.
    •    Experience in cable or connector development is preferred
    •    Project Management Certification and Master/MBA is a plus

    Qualification: 
    •    10 years in manufacturing, supply chain, industrial / operations strategy, industrial engineering.
    •    Strong analytical and data modeling skills (Excel, Power BI, or analytics platforms).
    •    Strategic thinking and business acumen.
    •    Experience with global expansion, plant setup, or network design.
    •    Comfort working in matrixed, multinational environments.
    •    Knowledge in project management, industrial engineering.
    •    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and fluent in English.
    •    Ability to work cross-functionally and drive result and alignment.
    •    Change management capabilities.
