Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

Key Responsibilities: 
1.Participating in creating cross-business robotic automation technology roadmaps to define, innovate, and implement the robotic technologies that TE business units will need to be successful. Working with the business units to define and to implement the robotic automation development projects.
2.Innovate and develop the next generation of robotic automation platforms and standards for flexible manufacturing processes and warehouse automation.  Identify levels of technologies should be sourced internally or externally.
3.Participating in the company-wide automation technology strategy, assisting and measuring its implementation and the results of the implementation.
4.Continually learning and leading robotic automation technologies and market trends. Match business strategies to seek new robotic technology opportunities that may be appropriate for TE.   
5.As a robotic technical expert to address and to develop and/or execute robotic automation projects and strategies.
6.Significant involvement in related automation opportunities allowing for the seamless transition of new products to assembly facilities.  
7.Working with intellectual property (IP) managers and legal teams to innovate and to strengthen TE IP strategies and portfolios in automation manufacturing technology

 

Key Requirements:
1.A strong technically oriented engineer with clearly demonstrated experience and a track record of robotic automation innovation and solutions
2.Engineering Statistics for DOE work
3.Robotic (in vector with matrix transformations) and machine vision programming
4.PLC programming in ladder logics and script languages
5.C#, C++, Python, HMI, GD&T, etc. coding knowledge and experience
6.Optional and super nice to have: Financial savvy, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Simulation/Metaverse knowledge and experience
7.At least 5 years, for Bachelor degree, or 2 years for Master degree, technical experiences in manufacturing automation with a detailed knowledge of robotics and automation
8.Excellent commercial and business acumen with deep experience in analyzing current technologies and capabilities on the market
9.Ability to communicate technical ideas, vision and inspire people at every level to deliver and execute the manufacturing technology

 

Minimum Professional Background Desired:
1.A demonstrated track record of successfully and effectively driving step change in today’s manufacturing through technological improvements
2.Solid background in engineering statistics for DOE work
3.Robotic programming (in vector with matrix transformations) and machine vision programming
4.Willingness to travel as necessary with significant presence in China and other regions
5.Advanced engineering degree (MS/ME/PhD) strongly preferred
