Payroll Manager

Job Overview

TE's Payroll teams prepare, document and disburse payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments. They evaluate current systems, and recommend and develop operating efficiency improvements. They also serve as liaison to employees and third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies, monitor and ensure proper documentation of employee benefit payments and deductions and prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including items such as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements.

What your background should look like:


  1. Administer the monthly payroll of different plants to ensure the payroll accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Provides oversight of processes within the Payroll function; advises, adjusts and implements process streamlining and/or changes within business process management to better harmonize resources for the benefit of the organization. Responds to business needs by continuously using, maintaining and improving tools and systems.
  3. Replicates Payroll best practices across countries within the department and ensure that process documentation is continuously updated
  4. Monitors the team’s performance, ensures direct reports meet their individual tasks, deadlines and perform to established standards. When needed, takes timely actions to coach, develop, and train direct reports in order to be able to fulfill their daily responsibilities to reach the job requirements and needed competencies.
  5. Builds & maintains long-term relationships with customers & key stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Finance, other HR Functions, external vendors).
  6. Participates in internal or cross functional projects; collaborates well with cross-functional teams in developing solutions that are in the best interest of the organization.



  1. Bachelor's Degree in related field from a four-year college or university 
  2. 2 years minimum management experience is required.
  3. 4-8 years of total work experience is preferred.
  4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  5. Strong attention to detail
  6. Good knowledge about local Labor Law
  7. Self-starter, sense of urgency, and works well under pressure
  8. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet timelines on deliverables
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office  
  10. Fluency in English & Mandarin is a must
