Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

Job Summary:
The Strategic sourcing manager for Equipment is a key role leading regional commodity strategy in Collaboration with the Global ESS Commodity Strategy Owner to realize established goals and objectives. It is expected that the job holder will have responsibility of managing a team of member, taking responsibility for KPI, managing alignment with key stakeholders, and support or lead key sourcing projects. He/she will also take a lead as main communication interface with 1 or 2 major business unit for all indirect procurement.

Responsibility/Job Complexity: 

•    Build up a regional sub-commodity strategy based on global procurement and business strategy/ Objectives
•    Drive LCC/BCC sourcing and develop suppliers in TE new footprint. 
•    Drive improvements on new and existing supply base.
•    Lead QBR sessions with Strategy and Preferred supplier base on assigned commodities. 
•    Drive and deliver productivity and other objectives for equipment.  
•    Drive process improvement according to S2P (Source to Pay Policy) policy and new product development process.
•    Approve contracts and deviations according to DOA
•    Relationship management with key stakeholders(senior manager and director level)
•    Lead as communication and QBR interface for 1 or 2 major regional BU


Required Job Family Skills: 
•    Automation or engineering background, negotiation skills, management skills
•    Demonstrated procurement competencies (business acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy, project management) and capability to work independently on multiple assignments.
•    Experience of managing equipment sourcing in manufacturing companies with multiple locations.
•    8+ years work experience in procurement, minimal 3 years team management experience
•    Can-do attitude, willing to make changes and innovations.
•    Strong ability to get consensus among function leaders and obtain the best solutions for TE.
•    English and mandarin are required
