Job Overview

• The Global Capital Equipment Procurement sourcing  will manage global CAPEX procurement activities to support business growth, manufacturing footprint expansion, and major capital investment projects. This role is responsible for developing and executing global equipment procurement strategies, managing strategic suppliers, leading a procurement team, controlling equipment cost and lead time, and ensuring project safe launch readiness.

  The ideal candidate should bring strong capital equipment procurement experience, proven exposure to large multinational manufacturing environments, and a successful track record of managing high-value investment projects across multiple countries. This role requires creative thinking to challenge traditional investment models and reduce capital spending, and strategic thinking to build a long-term supplier roadmap in close partnership with Engineering and Operations.

Job Requirements

• 1. Global Equipment Procurement Strategy

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for capital equipment investment projects.
  • Build a long-term supplier strategy aligned with global manufacturing footprint, engineering roadmap, operational needs, and business growth priorities.
  • Drive supplier segmentation, strategic supplier development, multi sourcing, regional support capability, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Establish global procurement standards, best practices, and governance for equipment sourcing and supplier selection.

  2. CAPEX Cost Optimization & Investment Reduction

  • Lead cost reduction initiatives for major equipment and CAPEX projects through competitive sourcing, benchmarking, design-to-cost, value engineering, commercial negotiation, supplier innovation, and total cost of ownership optimization.
  • Apply creative thinking to challenge existing investment assumptions and identify alternative technical or commercial solutions to reduce capital investment.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to optimize equipment specifications, standardize platforms, and improve investment efficiency while maintaining quality and launch requirements.
  • Manage large-scale investment projects and ensure commercial competitiveness, delivery discipline, and business continuity.

  3. Supplier Management & Lead Time Control

  • Identify, evaluate, select, and develop global equipment suppliers with strong capability in technology, cost, quality, delivery, service, capacity, and regional support.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships through regular business reviews, KPI tracking, escalation management, and corrective action plans.
  • Secure equipment lead time, supplier capacity, technical readiness, and resource commitment to support project milestones and manufacturing launch schedules.
  • Build a resilient supplier base to reduce dependency, improve supply flexibility, and support multiple manufacturing footprints globally.

  4. Project Execution & Safe Launch Support

  • Lead equipment procurement activities from RFQ/RFI, supplier selection, quotation analysis, commercial negotiation, contract finalization, delivery tracking, installation support, and project closure.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Legal, plant operation teams, and regional procurement teams to ensure project execution alignment.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to cost, lead time, capacity, technical readiness, quality, supplier performance, and launch timing.
  • Ensure equipment sourcing and supplier delivery support safe launch, production readiness, and business continuity.

  5. Contracting, Commercial Negotiation & Compliance

  • Lead commercial negotiations for price, payment terms, lead time, warranty, service commitment, intellectual property protection, technical specifications, liability, and other key contract terms.
  • Work with Legal, Engineering, and business stakeholders to manage supplier contract deviations and protect company interests.
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, procurement processes, approval requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Drive transparency and discipline in supplier selection, quotation comparison, business case development, and decision-making.

  6. Stakeholder Management

  • Influence senior stakeholders and gain alignment on supplier strategy, procurement decisions, supplier roadmap, and investment optimization opportunities.
  • Foster strong collaboration across regions and functions to support global business priorities.

   

What your background should look like

• • Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, CAPEX sourcing, equipment procurement, automation sourcing, or related areas.
  • Proven experience managing CAPEX / equipment procurement in a large multinational company.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing footprints across multiple countries or regions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-value capital investment projects.
  • Strong commercial negotiation capability and solid understanding of equipment contracts, technical specifications, warranty, service terms, payment terms, supplier commitments, IP protection, and liability terms.
  • Strong supplier management experience, including supplier evaluation, development, performance management, risk mitigation, and long-term partnership building.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Legal, plant teams, and regional procurement teams.
  • Fluent English communication skills; Mandarin or other regional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally based on project and supplier needs.
