Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Responsibilities: 
•    Be responsible for leading engineering organizations in performing products research and development according customer requirements and technology roadmap.   
•    Team performance goals management following organization strategy, review and provide feedback to team members periodically. 
•    Manage the team resources to support the technology and product strategy 
•    Overseeing the entire process of new products development and engineering changes.
•    Effective problem-solving skills and Lead in resolving the issues down to closure 
•    Coach and develop team members to build a good performance team 
•    Drive continuous development and enhancement of systems and procedures to streamline design and development process
•    Determine best course of action to meet schedule and resolve technical issues 
•    Resource and conflict management, negotiation and priority setting 
•    Interact with customers and suppliers externally and interact with multiple organizational levels internally 
  Qualification: 
•    Bachelor’s degree or above, mechanical background is needed. With signal integrity knowledge is a plus
•    12 years or above connector development engineering experience, Socket related working experience is preferred.
•    5 years or above experience in RD team management, global management experience is a plus 
•    Extensive knowledge about molding, stamping, plating, and auto assembly processes associated with miniature sized products.
•    Demonstrated the skill in leading, developing and managing a team, motivate others and cooperating with other teams across the boundary
•    Excellent in English skill, both verbal and oral 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills
