TE Connectivity's Intellectual Property Teams develop and maintain company patent applications, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, licensing and research agreements, publications and intellectual property aspects of contracts and agreements, as well as provide input on any other matters related to intellectual property law. Our Teams partner with internal/external departments to lead overall company parts/productions brand protection activities and help us continue to win in all markets.
TE Connectivity (TE) is seeking an Intellectual Property Specialist to work in our Shanghai office. This position will report to an Assistant General Counsel – China IP Lead. The position will be a key member of the China IP team, providing crucial support for the management and administration of our intellectual property assets including patents. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our patent processes, ensuring compliance, and facilitating seamless communication between internal stakeholders and external counsel. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong understanding of IP administrative procedures.
Responsibilities
o Maintain and update TE’s global IP docketing system to ensure all patent data are accurately entered and updated.
o Administer the patent workflow, from invention disclosure to grant/abandonment.
o Maintain IP electronic file system to ensure all the invention disclosure/patent related documents are timely archived and recorded.
o Assist in managing relationships with multiple external IP law firms, including coordinating filing instructions, tracking work progress.
o Respond to internal client inquiries regarding IP matters and processes.
o Assist in managing the processing of IP-related invoices and budget tracking.
o Support IP counsels for other IP-related projects and activities as needed.
o Provide administrative support to IP counsels, including scheduling meetings, office supplies purchase, and travel expenses reimbursement etc.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree is required.
o Minimum 3+ years of experience in an IP administrative, paralegal, or specialist role, preferably within multi-national company or IP law firm.
o Solid understanding of patent application workflow and the patent prosecution lifecycle.
o Proven experience with IP management software/docketing systems (e.g., CPA Global, Anaqua etc.) is highly desirable.
o Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
o Verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
