Overview:
We are building a world class Global Trade Services (GTS) organization supported by Operational Service Centers dedicated to delivering critical trade compliance and customs services.
The Trade Compliance Analyst plays a key role in driving customs compliance governance, import management, data driven risk identification, and regulatory change response across all TE China locations.
This role supports centralized and standardized customs operations within the Customs & Corporate Services Center (CCSC), ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational excellence through collaboration with business units, corporate functions, and external stakeholders. The role reports to China Manager – APAC Customs & Corporate Services Center, joining a team of global trade professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business.
Responsibilities:
• Execute day-to-day customs and CCSC compliance activities, including coordination with customs brokers, valuation support, documentation preparation, and project execution.
• Review monthly broker reports and import/export data; monitor broker performance and proactively escalate clearance or compliance issues.
• Conduct routine tracking and data reviews for implemented compliance programs and prepare timely, accurate compliance reports.
• Support routine valuation activities, including cost element review, validation of declaration inputs, and preparation of valuation-related documentation.
• Provide customs-related data, documentation, and audit support to corporate functions (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics).
• Provide customs operational support to Business Units (BUs) and ensure alignment between centralized CCSC processes and BU operational needs.
• Coordinate daily operations with the GTS compliance team to maintain consistent processes and effective communication of compliance requirements.
• Assist with the execution of customs and import/export-related projects, providing documentation, coordination, and operational support.
• Contribute to system and process improvements by gathering business requirements, preparing data, conducting user testing, and driving operational efficiency.
• Support the development of templates, tools, and documentation for new or upcoming initiatives.
What your background should look like:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree required (International Relations, Supply Chain, Law, or related field preferred).
• Master’s degree or local equivalent preferred.
Experience
• Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in international trade, customs operations, or trade compliance, with strong China focus.
• Experience collaborating with corporate functions and business unit operational teams in China.
• Experience with customs broker coordination, including KPI review and RFQ renewal.
• Familiarity with bonded warehouse and EPZ procedures, systems, and annual reconciliation.
• Exposure or experience with logistics and warehouse operations in major hubs (e.g., Shanghai, Shenzhen) is a plus.
• APAC regional collaboration experience is a plus.
• Ability to support projects and deliver results despite challenges.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work with complex datasets.
• Data analysis and visualization capability (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English.
• Ability to collaborate with cross functional stakeholders and build trust within a global organization.

• Ability to travel as needed (5–10%).
