Overview
The Director Product Management is member of leadership team of Performance Materials Emerging Business Unit.
This role will own the key product strategies for the global business and will report to the Vice President and General Manager of the Performance Materials Emerging Business Unit.

This position manages all aspects of a global product line portfolio, from driving new product development to
defining the go-to-market strategies and product roadmap in liaison with Sales and Industry Marketing and will collaborate with operations to ensure that the strategy and manufacturing capacity are in place to achieve defined revenue targets with the right cost, lead times, and quality. In this high visibility and high-impact role, the Director will drive all product related strategy development and partner in M&A activities in business.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Market Sensing & Strategy Development
Sets an inspiring vision and rallies the organization around the vision
Outlines a clear portfolio strategy that positions Performance Materials eBU to place wise bets that deliver strong financial results
Cascades the vision and strategy throughout the organization and ties it to clear near-term plans and metrics. Creates buy-in from the organization for the plan through early engagement
Creates breakthroughs (e.g., new market entry, new products, new business models, M&A) through excellence in creating an ideas funnel, idea selection, prioritization, active experimentation, and scale-up of proven ideas
Articulate market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape
Design go-to-market strategy, inclusive of channel strategy and partnerships
Develop the annual operating plan (Sales and gross or standard margin) 
Manage the P&L for the assigned portfolio
Attend customer meetings in support of winning new business
Manage the product lifecycle  
Conduct market segmentation exercises to develop market segment-specific strategies.  
Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking
Define segment–specific value propositions that provide a competitive advantage
Develop product and technology roadmaps that aligns with business strategy and market needs
Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products to meet current and future customer and market requirements.

What your background should look like:

Qualifications
12+ years of product management, general management or sales experience with relevant P&L management experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent. MBA preferred.
Strong Leadership skills
Strong business acumen - and a good understanding of technical complexes
Strong customer facing skills – building relationships, handling negotiations and selling.
Should have had previous experience in Product Management, Sales or Marketing
Considerable experience working with the product technology, processes or market
Experience in building effective teams
Proven ability to deliver results.
Experience of defining and developing policy, managing resources and meeting targets/objectives.
Critical thinking and decision making
