Job Overview

Supplier Quality Engineer (Solar), By integrating end-to-end management across product design, pre-production verification, supplier quality, and customer quality, we achieve front-loading of quality risks, cost optimization, supply high-quality product to deliver an Extraordinary Customer Experience.

Job Requirements

  1. Full Lifecycle Quality Management

Lead and coordinate quality initiatives across product design, raw material procurement, manufacturing, finished product inspection, and post-sales service to ensure compliance with TE and customer specifications.

  1. ‌Quality Management Planning & Execution‌
    Develop and implement detailed quality plans aligned with organizational quality strategies, including quality standards, inspection workflows, and critical to quality control points (CTQ)
  2. ‌‌Quality Control & Inspection‌
    Define product inspection criteria and oversee material incoming inspection (IQC), in-process quality control (IPQC), and final product quality assurance (FQA) activities.
  3. Quality Data Analysis & CIP‌
    Collect, consolidate, and interpret quality metrics through statistical tools. Generate quality performance reports, identify root causes, and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  4. ‌Design & Process Validation‌
    Following APQP process for all NPI development and migration projects to ensure that properly flowing critical to customer requirements -> DFMEA -> critical to quality characteristics -> PFMEA -> production quality control plan , quality improvement and PPAP preparation.
  5. ‌Supplier Quality Management
    Manage supplier quality performance via audits, scorecards, and APQP processes. Drive supplier Improvement programs (SIP) for raw material quality enhancement.
  6. ‌Nonconformance Management‌
    Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality incidents using 8D methodology. record cases, escalate by protocols, and implement error-proofing solutions.
  7. ‌Customer quality management

Manage high level customer quality concerns with large corporations and companies globally, review and communicate technical information and corrective actions, proactively implement improvement plans with the customer, engineering and manufacturing sites within TE, preparing routine discussion with customers on quality related topics and continue improvement plans

  1. ‌Cross-functional Collaboration‌
    Serve as quality liaison between R&D, production, and procurement teams. Maintain proactive communication with clients/suppliers on quality expectations and issue resolution.
  2. ‌Continuous Improvement Leadership‌
    Apply advanced quality tools (FMEA, MSA, SPC) to benchmark processes and implement breakthrough improvements (e.g., Lean Six Sigma projects).

What your background should look like

  • B.S. degree (or above) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • ≥5 years working experience in product design and or supplier quality or in related function areas, working experience in Solar product, connector, Cable assembly, AUTO background is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of supplier management, certified ISO9001/IATF16949 internal auditor is preferred.
  • Be familiar with injection/moulding/machining/Stamping and plating process quality control points
  • Data-driven decision-making ability (proficient in using analytical tools such as Minitab/JMP)
  • Be familiar with quality management tools (such as Lean Six Sigma, Project management, FMEA, 8D, SPC, etc.)
  • Technical knowledge: Understand common design software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.), and have a deep understanding of product design processes and gating review.
  • Communication skills: Excellent Chinese and English written and oral expression skills, able to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Analytical skills: Strong logical thinking and data analysis skills, able to solve complex problems independently.
  • Customer orientation: Customer-oriented thinking (balance quality standards with delivery costs)
  • Risk identification: Systematic risk prediction ability (establish early warning mechanisms through historical problems)
  • Working Attitude: Focusing on details, have a strong sense of responsibility, and have a good team spirit and innovation awareness.
  • regular travels (25%~50%)
