Job Overview

 

ROLE OBJECTIVE

 

This position provides Management leadership & is responsible for all Engineering and Project Management Office (PMO) Systems. Additionally they are responsible for all PMO process, support, data and continuous improvement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Engineering Excellence employing the TE operating model for continuous improvement (TEOA) and Kaizens to assist the Director of the PMO to develop a high performing Project management and engineering function.
  • They have overall responsibility for driving operational efficiency to maximize value and return on investment through continuous improvement activities
  • Develop improvement strategies that will reduce costs, control resource expenditure and drive business growth
  • Act as a lean champion and innovative thought leader, focusing on driving standardization, simplification, and digitalization for and across the product development lifecycle.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the engineering system to ensure they support the engineering community in developing new products
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) system to support the project managers and their team to NPI development
  • Support the leadership through system data and dashboards to track progress on yearly goals and initiatives.
  • Owns all NPI processes and standard work and drives continuous improvement efforts within it. 
  • Ensures the development process is followed with a value driven approach
  • Ensure suitable tools, and process & methodology exist to support the efficient execution of Projects whilst maintaining accurate records of project activity,
  • Drive the capture of resource forecasting and expenditure data to provide efficient mechanism to understand resource utilization and decision impact
  • Implement a robust analytics infrastructure across end-to-end product development lifecycle, extracting data from appropriate systems to provide real-time actionable insights on product development and continuous improvement efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the efficient facilitation of Gate meetings
  • Ensures all users are trained in new systems and updates
  • Cascade down organization initiatives, news, and objectives as needed
  • Works with the Director of the PMO on developing and executing long term goals and strategy for the department
  • Lead change and standardization across the organization to drive efficiencies that lead to cultural, structural, process, and talent agility.

EDUCATION & CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

 

  • Graduate / Masters in engineering or equivalent with 10-15 years of experience
  • 8+ years of Project Management or New Product Development process experience
  • Distributed & multi-cultural team management experience

 

COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL)

 

MUST HAVE

 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, manage and inspire a diverse global team located in multiple regions and spread across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to work in a global environment – able to accommodate varying time zones and able to collaborate with individuals across multiple geographies
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into meaningful action plans.
  • Must be able to effectively work with people of all levels, cultures and functional backgrounds.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with a proven track record of forging excellent relationships across organizations and with senior management.
  • Demonstrated results in driving efficiency and productivity in an organization; Six Sigma and Lean methodology experience a plus.
  • In depth understanding of Toll Gate / Stage Gate process in Product development.
  • Experience in managing Engineering and/or Project management systems
  • Experience in continuous improvement, change management and problem solving techniques
  • Experience in effective project management strategies and tactics

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $152,000 – 200,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
