Job Overview

  • The ideal candidate will be a high-powered individual with a persuasive leadership style and motivating management skills; experienced transformational growth leader with a passion for driving an Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE). 
  • Reporting to the VP Operations, The Sr Director of Operations will be responsible for the Wire and Cable products with manufacturing locations in Mexico, United Kingdom, and the United States. This role is instrumental in driving a more efficient and effective organization that enables the high performance of our Operations Team.
  • The role focuses on developing a team and utilizing cutting edge technologies as well as leading and developing our Operations strategies. This role will partner with the leadership team across the business to drive a culture of learning, problem solving, and strong continuous improvement.
  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
     

Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Actively participate in the development and the implementation of the Wire & Cable Vision for AD&M.
  • Set the path to achieve key 5-year breakthrough objectives for Operations for Wire & Cable. 
  • Drive Profitable Growth & Market Positioning
  • Ensure performance reliability to build and retain customer trust.
  • Optimize Intercompany Flow & Profitability

Execution:

  • Maintain adherence to the 10-Step Safety Journey and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program.
  • Promote a safety-first culture using ergonomic improvements and reward & recognition systems.
  • Oversee Quality and Continuous Improvement (TEOA) initiatives to meet or exceed business unit targets.
  • Streamline operations via productivity and a defined production strategy and robust daily management tools/processes.
  • Optimize value streams, network, and supply chain to implement world-class Make-to-Order operations.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by reducing Past Due Orders and increasing the say/do ratio.
  • Strengthen supply chain processes to improve output and profitability.
  • Implement robust process controls to elevate product quality and delivery performance.
  • Identify tooling and equipment needs, and ensure standards are documented through a Standard Playbook.
  • Develop, update, and implement process procedures that promote consistency and quality across operations.

Talent:

  • Build a high-performing organization that consistently overdelivers and fulfills customer needs.
  • Lead and foster cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Finance, and HR.
  • Support plant and functional EVC (Every Voice Counts) action plans and increase EVC scores.
  • Support site-based ambassador programs to foster ownership, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Focus on talent development for critical roles that enable transformation.
  • Provide career pathing and upskilling aligned with operational excellence and process needs.

What your background should look like:

Education & Business Acumen

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline required.
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree strongly preferred.
  • Extensive Manufacturing & Supply Chain Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with a strong focus on manufacturing operations and supply chain.
  • Experience in High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV), make-to-order environments with high quality standards is essential.

Global, Multi-Site Leadership

  • At least 5 years managing multi-site operations with demonstrated success in global manufacturing settings.
  • Proven Continuous Improvement Leadership
  • Demonstrated results in leading Lean initiatives, including value stream mapping, Hoshin Kanri, TEOA tools (e.g., 5S+1, Standard Work, Visual Factory), and TPM.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or proficiency highly desirable.
  • Strong Operational & Technical Competence
  • Proven ability to drive operational excellence, prioritize effectively, and meet business goals in fast-paced, high-demand environments.

Leadership & Communication Skills

  • Strong people leadership capabilities: approachable, change agent, dependable, and team-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels and settings.

Industry Experience

  • Prior experience in Wire & Cable manufacturing is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) or integration of acquired operations into existing manufacturing and supply chain structures.

Systems & Language Proficiency

  • Proficiency in SAP and reporting systems is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish or other foreign languages are a plus.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $222,500 – $333,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
