SENIOR SOLUTION ARCHITECT - REMOTE

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s IT Architecture Teams report into the Global Chief Architect who, assisted by Enterprise Architects establishes the direction for Business Architecture, Technology Architecture, 5-Year IT Strategy & Roadmap, Business/IT Strategy Alignment, Standards and Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes. The Business Architecture Teams specialize in TE business capabilities and align the supporting TEIS strategies and capabilities. The Solution Architecture Teams implement solution architecture and design for all tiers of IT solutions, namely Application, Information and Infrastructure. Application architects specialize in one or more major applications (e.g. SAP, SFDC, PLM). Information Architecture Teams specialize in one or more data domains (e.g. Parts, Employees, Customers etc.). Infrastructure Architects specialize in one or more infrastructure components (e.g. Network, Servers). In compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards and ARB processes, IT solutions utilize core or emerging technologies in rent-buy-build mode considering key factors such as service delivery and cost.

Short Description

Position Overview:  A vital role that drives the alignment of the TE vertical business unit's goals with the needs of information technology services, infrastructure, products, security, application/software, databases, and processes.  The solutions architect will support the organizations' digital innovation goals by creating the overall technical vision for the TE business unit.    

Responsibilities:

  •     Strong technical lead that defines, develops, documents, and communicates architecture solutions and standards utilizing key areas such as server, storage, backup, virtualization, data centers, disaster recovery, networking, security, applications, and services.
  •     Understand current state architecture and develops best-fit solutions that considers various elements such as performance, availability, capacity, security, compliance, risk, and cost effectiveness of application/service/technical solutions.
  •     Create and document future state architecture options to address specific issues or business demands.
  •     Collaborates and builds effective relationships across other TE infrastructure teams and external partners to develop the GIS strategy/roadmap; understands and participates with the TE's global strategy.
  •     Leads technical evaluations and proof of concepts to understand, compare, and select key technologies that will benefit to business.
  •     Often acts as the lead or key contributor for multiple projects running in parallel.
  •     Able to identify tasks and prioritize accordingly to deliver on short term and long-term activities.
  •     Provides training and mentorship to other professional employee on various application and infrastructure technologies.
  •     Strong knowledge across multiple technologies including HPE technologies (Synergy, Primera), NetApp Storage, Cisco UCS & FC switching, VMWare, Dell Server compute/storage, Brocade.
  •     Solid understanding of various supporting technologies including scripting/automation, operating systems, LAN/WAN, load balancing, wireless, voice, security, databases, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  •     Good understanding of automation, scripting technologies, and management tools especially with SolarWinds, Avanti, Ansible, Microsoft PowerShell, GIT, Kubernetes, VMware PowerCLI, vROPs, ServiceNow, and Turbonomic.
  •     Understanding of architecture design, DevOps, SRE, and agile methodologies.
  •     Comfortable with working in a large, global, follow the sun support organization.

What your background should look like:

Qualifications:

  •     Generally, requires bachelor’s degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 6 years of experience with deep solutioning; Master’s degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred.
  •     Proven experience in creating solutions architecture designs.(both on-premise and off-premise)
  •     Ability to create high level software/hardware solutions.
  •     Ability to work with multiple projects and work streams at one time  Must be able to deliver results based upon project deadlines.  
  •     Necessity to flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for a global team.
  •     Exceptional ability working on complex technical designs/issues with the aptness to communicate and collaborate clearly to management, customers, and the technical community.

Compensation Data

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $160,000 – $175,000 per year (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
