Job Overview
The Manager, Strategic Sourcing for Stamping CL will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and management of the Stamping category across TE Connectivity. The role will require a strong focus on key aspects of the business, including the development of long-term strategies to support TE’s growth and manufacturing footprint, make vs. buy decisions, regional supplier segmentation, enterprise productivity, supplier development in key growth areas, process improvement, and quality optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Stamping category that aligns with the company's overall vision and goals
- Determine the most appropriate Make vs. Buy strategy for the Stamping category and implement it in collaboration with TE’s Segments, Business Units, and cross-functional teams
- Lead the long-term strategy for the Stamping category and oversee its implementation, including identifying new opportunities for growth and expansion
- Segment suppliers based on regional needs and collaborate with business units, to develop and implement supplier development plans
- Optimize the manufacturing footprint for the Stamping category to ensure the highest levels of efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Implement enterprise productivity initiatives across the Stamping category to drive cost savings and improve overall performance
- Develop supplier relationships in key growth areas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier alignment with the company's strategic objectives
- Drive process improvement and quality optimization initiatives across the Stamping category to ensure the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sourcing strategies that deliver the best value for the company and our customers
What your background should look like:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Engineering preferred (MBA is a plus)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Engineering and/or Operations
- Knowledge of the Stamping Commodity: In-depth understanding of the Stamping processes, techniques, and materials used in the industry. This knowledge will enable you to make informed decisions while sourcing materials and selecting suppliers
- Technical expertise: You should be familiar with the technical aspects of the Stamping industry, such as tooling, process control, and quality assurance, to effectively communicate with suppliers and understand their capabilities
- Market Intelligence: Good understanding of the industry trends, market dynamics, and supplier landscape. This knowledge will help you to identify new opportunities, stay abreast of industry developments, and negotiate better deals
- Supplier Management: You should have strong skills in supplier management, including the ability to assess supplier capabilities, develop supplier relationships, and manage supplier performance
- Negotiation skills: As a procurement professional, you should be skilled in negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best value for your organization
- Project management: You should possess strong project management skills to effectively manage procurement projects, from initial supplier selection to final delivery of goods and services
- Data analysis: You should have analytical skills to analyze procurement data, develop procurement strategies, and monitor procurement performance metrics
- Collaboration and communication: Effective collaboration and communication skills are essential to work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to achieve procurement objectives
- Strategic thinking: You should be able to think strategically and develop a clear category strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goal
- Decision making: You should be able to make informed and timely decisions that take into account all relevant factors, including risks, opportunities, and stakeholder needs
- Talent development: You should be able to identify and develop procurement talent, build high-performing teams, and foster a culture of learning and development

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $128,800 – 161,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
