ROLE OVERVIEW 

 

100% REMOTE
  
The Sustainability Manager will have the opportunity to develop and execute a sustainability strategy for a global Business Unit that manufactures lifesaving medical products. This will consist of the implementation of programs and tools to report, calculate and improve carbon emissions in the entire product lifecycle including manufacturing and supply chain as well as other sustainability goals for waste, water and energy.  Introduce sustainability requirements in the early stages of product development and procurement processes. You will have the opportunity to work on projects that will drive efficiencies that make a difference.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES 
  
•    Develop Medical business sustainability strategy and plans to meet enterprise sustainability goals. Includes supporting Industrial Solutions (IS) segment and TE Connectivity sustainability strategy. 
•    Align sustainability strategy with business functions and sites to ensure it is designed for execution and performance indicators drive realistic actions.  Drive projects in the BU that will meet the sustainability goals for water, waste, GHG and work with manufacturing plants to achieve project completion.
•    Initiation of action towards the reduction of environmental/carbon footprint and achieve TE and IS Segment sustainability goals. 
•    Establish programs and work with various functional teams to meet customer expectation on sustainability. 
•    Develop BU methods and tools to report, calculate, analyze, and improve carbon footprint in products and operations (Scope 1 & 2 & 3 GHG emission reduction, product carbon emission reduction). 
•    Lead and support sustainability projects and ensure key milestones are achieved.  
•    Engage and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics to ensure CO2 is part of the decision matrix. 
•    Lead or support Engineering and collaborate with COE as well as other functional teams in the development of environmental life cycle assessments for products, processes and packaging. 
•    Drive energy efficiency, renewable energy deployment, water and waste reduction projects and programs and tools at all sites. 
•    Develop and deliver sustainability training to all levels of the organization.   
•    Support communication and collaboration with external stakeholders. 

What your background should look like:

QUALIFICATIONS 
  
•    Undergraduate degree in sustainability or engineering or science degree. 
•    Hands-on experience calculating product carbon footprint, environmental life cycle assessment, circular economy, or product stewardship/product compliance. 
•    Minimum of 8 years of sustainability or equivalent professional experiences. 
•    Fluent in English and have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
•    Be able to work with stakeholders located in different countries and time zones. 
•    Ability to travel at rate estimated to be 40-50% to the sites in the BU.
•    Experience in Environment Compliance Management an advantage.
•    Manufacturing experience in driving sustainability KPI's.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience:  Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $121,286 - 181,920 (subject to change dependent on physical location) (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
