Director, COE Procurement - Cost Analytics

Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, the Director, Center of Excellence Procurement – Cost Analytics will identify and deliver incremental productivity to the TE enterprise.  This is a newly created role will serve all TE Business Units (BU’s) and will require the ability to collaborate very closely with the Manufacturing Engineering COE team.  The Procurement COE will utilize cost modeling software to identify gaps in product costs,  and work closely with supplier and BU Commodity experts to close gaps.  In addition, the Procurement COE will work on site with supplier to implement process improvement to facilitate additional productivity.  The ideal candidate will have desire and drive for upward mobility and exhibit the required values, performance, and behaviors to enable such career progression.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Utilize cost modeling software to identify product cost gaps.
•    Lead a COE Procurement team of 3 team members in NA, EMEA and AP to identify productivity at suppliers.  This may be utilizing software, on site supplier workshops, quality support, etc.
•    Responsible to achieve annual goals for assigned KPIs including cost and quality
•    Responsible to lead idea generation and execution of ideas across all BU’s to ensure a sustainable pipeline of material productivity initiatives
•    Be able to capture the needs of the BUs and fulfill their expectations in COE related KPIs and service level as internal customers.
•    Responsible for driving continuous improvement (TEOA) for Procurement COE
•    In collaboration with Procurement peers, develop and execute talent development plans for the individual team members and succession planning.
•    Manage relations with all key suppliers who are engaged in Procurement COE Project
•    Works in accordance with the TE processes, values and behaviors.
 

What your background should look like:

•    At least 5 years of relatable Data Analytics or Manufacturing Engineering  
•    Experience with Cost Modeling Software tools
•    Strong IT Skills: SAP, advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word
•    Prior experience managing a team
•    Possess strong and sound continuous improvement disciplines and convictions; Proven success in these areas is a must.
•    Proven track record that demonstrates ability to achieve desired results.
•    Strong people & organizational leadership skills.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills towards staff, peers, suppliers, internal customers and leadership.
•    Ability to prioritize manage complexity in a fast-paced environment.
•    Very Strong problem-solving skills.
•    University degree in business related field, engineering or equivalent.
