Digital Data and Innovation Manager

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Excellence Team manages cross functional engineering projects. Working with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. You will be responsible for defining and creating project reports, communication, and execution of project data, identifying resource constraints, and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes. As part of this role, you will also lead the Business Unit (BU) TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Engineering Excellence with a working partnership with the Corporate TEOA Manager.
You will also be responsible for leading and guiding the TEOA deployment for the BU. They will provide TEOA subject matter expertise in leading the deployment.
You will work with the TEOA implementation teams to drive the development and facilitate the deployment of the TEOA culture & process. You will have primary responsibility with shared accountability, for the progress and results of the TEOA deployment within the BU.

Key responsibilities:
•    You will be the responsible for determining the correct set of Sensors BU-specific Metrics and the associated reports based on the Business drivers at: a BU level, Product Team level, and for individual roles.
•    Drive innovative solutions through the Business Unit.
•    Develop BU TEOA deployment plans consistent with business unit /plant strategic and operational plan.
•    Support and mentor BU TEOA Practitioners / Kaizen Facilitators to enable them to succeed in the TEOA deployment.
•    Identify and organize resources required to achieve successful implementation in accordance with plan.
•    Develop skill levels of practitioners and other site personnel in order to implement and sustain TEOA.
•    Monitor progress against plans, achievement of continuous improvement and progression to higher star assessment levels.
•    Monitor and report BU level measurements and performance to star assessment levels.
•    Lead the BU TEOA project teams and execute the TEOA implementation plan for the BU to achieve the plant level TEOA metrics and goals while ensuring alignment to the business unit strategy.
•    Create, plan, lead and follow-up of the TEOA implementation plan and ensure TEOA actions are visual to stakeholders and are driven to a sustainable closure.
•    Facilitate TEOA Kaizen events throughout the BU.
•    Account for predicted savings and track, validate and post to financial/operational results.
•    Provide leadership on lean thinking, lean processing, and lean production.
•    Train team members, management, and staff in all TEOA tools.
•    Replicate examples of excellence across the BU and communicate this to other TEOA team members within business unit.


What your background should look like:

 Qualifications & Skills:
•    5 to 7 years of technical / operations experience with focus on production, logistics or industrial engineering and finance.
•    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, Master's Degree preferred.
•    1 to 2 years of experience as Lean practitioner and demonstrated evidence of sustained, successful lean activities within specific value streams.
•    Development engineering and/or Project management experience is a plus
•    Proficiency in standard reporting/presentation tools and data analysis
•    Proven successful delivery of innovative solutions to large organizations
•    Previous experience in leading continuous improvement activities at value stream level essential.
•    Previous hands-on and practical experience in using value stream mapping and implementing TEOA tools with proven results in at least the following areas: 5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard Work, Quick Changeover           and TPM preferred.
•    Have the patience, perseverance, and passion to drive the TEOA culture across the plant.
•    Credibility and experience to work effectively and directly with the site management team.
•    Excellent communication, coaching and inter-personal skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management.
•    Strong team leader.
•    Demonstrated project management skills.
•    Analytically minded and data driven.
•    Must also have a holistic overview of complex situations and deal effectively with difficult issues when they arise.

Additional Information:
•    The roles require reporting creation using project data, Power BI, and other data software to make business decisions.
•    The role may involve some travel to other sites within the business unit and will require overnight stays.
•    The role has a heavy emphasis on supporting and mentoring the Lean Practitioners to ensure they become stand-alone champions for the deployment.
•    Job Specific Training required within first six months of commencement:
•    Formal Mentoring, Facilitating & Coaching Training
•    DMAIC Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Optional)
•    Process Improvement Management (If not completed already)

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $120,000 – 130,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
