TE’s Application Tooling business unit, part of the Transportation Solutions segment, has a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) position available in our European region.  It is a remote position located external to TE’s HQ facilities.  This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing accounts, ensuring continued sales of TE's products or services. Incumbents are tasked with identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue from the current client base AND / OR Targeting new business opportunities, specializing in the acquisition of new accounts. Creates awareness and demand for company products.
They serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing needs and resolving issues to maintain satisfaction. Understanding client feedback and working with product development to adapt offerings are crucial. The goal is to sustain and grow the TE's revenue through strategic account management.
The position will also be responsible for managing the regional team of Inside Sales and Field Service Engineering.  This position reports to the Global Director of Sales and interacts with all functions of the business.

Your main tasks

  • Coach account managers into future sales leaders, identifying and recruiting new talent.
  • Meet and exceed targets for sales growth across product lines, market areas, and channels.
  • Develop strategies to increase market share and improve business relations with customers.
  • Use the Strategic Account Alignment Process to identify and develop new customers and sales opportunities.
  • Collect and report on competitive activity, business trends, and sales results in the assigned region.
  • Participate in sales activities including customer site visits, trade shows, and product demonstrations.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure satisfaction, growth, and loyalty.
  • Manage opportunities in Salesforce.com and provide monthly funnel reviews to demonstrate the quality of the sales pipeline.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and manage a team of Area Sales Managers, field service engineers, and inside sales.
  • Document, track, and report on progress in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
  • Develop regional growth strategy, maintaining share in transportation and expanding into other sectors.
     

Your ideal background

  • B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; B.S. in Business with applicable experience considered.
  • 8+ years of sales management experience, especially in machinery, equipment, or manufacturing sales.
  • Proven success in leading high-performance sales teams and executing sales strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with multi-lingual abilities a plus.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional teams to drive sales growth.
  • Experience in contract analysis, and with building strong internal and external relationships.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and challenge assumptions while executing business strategy.
