PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing/Production Teams transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures. Swing Shift  Production Operators needed to support Wire &Cable manufacturing in Redwood City.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Cross trained in multiple manufacturing functions
  • Read and understand manufacturing specifications
  • Perform set up, run and shut off operations of processing line
  • Troubleshoots and corrects processing problems
  • Perform in-process quality testing using but not limited to: micrometers, pin gauges, rulers, tensile and elongation machine, capacitance to water setup, and microscopes
  • Daily entries into computer database
  • Communicate and collaborate with co-workers, engineers and maintenance personnel
  • Know how to use necessary hand tools, calipers, micrometers and torque wrenches
  • Work effectively with continuous improvement teams
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks, internal audits and inspections
  • Package and label products as applicable

 

Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • 3-5 years’ experience  in Manufacturing, Expansion or Extrusion skills
  • Must be able to follow directions and work independently
  • Computer experience
  • Basic math and communication skills
  • Attentive to detail
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • PPE equipment is required at all times in all areas, including hearing protection and safety glasses
  • Forklift certification training, if needed
  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).   Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
