Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

What your background should look like:

Essential Duties
-    Interpret and work in accordance with TE/Customers documentation:
o    Policies and Procedures
o    Working Instructions/Assembly Procedures
o    Test results
o    MSDS
o    Top/Low level technical drawings
o    Technical Instructions (emails/phone call/Etc.)
-    Keep personal documentation updated and the company informed
o    Passports
o    VISAS
o    Trainings/Certifications
o    Drive Licenses
-    Develop/Register/Maintain Field Service documentation
o    Register daily log book of activities performed (travel report)
o    Keep time sheet updated in daily basis
o    Fill procedures with accurate information, as equipment P/N and S/N, equipment calibration date, etc.
o    Register/Maintain time and testing results according to work instructions/procedures
o    Register/Maintain expenses reports, and receipts associated to trips
-    Field Service Optical/Electrical Umbilical Re-termination/Termination
o    Solder in accordance with IPC-A-620C and J-STD-001
o    Perform optical fusion splices proficiently
o    Mold using industry standard materials
-    Use test equipment for both electrical and optical systems
-    Ensure all work equipment are in proper working condition, calibrated (when applied) and cleanliness requirements are always maintained
-    Establish and maintain clean working environment
-    Work with various chemicals (e.g. oil, MEK, Flux, epoxy, etc.)
-    Flexible travel schedule, with up to 100% travel
o    Travel nationally or internationally to perform field work
o    Perform work at customers site onshore and offshore
o    Work a flexible work schedule (Day shift / Night Shift)
o    Willing to work on 12h/12h work schedule
o    Must be able and willing to work frequent overtime
-    Use with responsibility/integrity company’s resources as computers, phones, credit card, car, etc.
-    Administration roles
o    Must be able to communicate with customers in a professional manner
o    Keep contact with customer in a regular basis
o    Technical visit to customer
o    Keep customers/jobs records
o    Keep records of tool boxes, expire dates of equipment/chemical
o    Handle equipment calibration/repair
o    Regular communication with our Global Field Service Coordinator/Manager in USA
