Job Requirements
• This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
• Shift: 6 am to 2 pm (preferably this)
• This position is an in-person role and based in the Redwood City, CA office
As a Quality Control Technician in the Wire and Cable Area, you will:
• Play a hands-on role in verifying and validating the quality of new product builds of wire and cable through inspection, auditing, and issue detection
• Focus on ensuring that early-stage builds meet internal and customer quality standards before scaling up production
• Interact closely with Quality Managers and manufacturing and development engineering assembly teams to ensure risks are detected and addressed at the earliest phase of the wire and cable construction
• Assist in generating Product Quality Plan documentation that outlines quality requirements and inspection points throughout the product lifecycle
• Perform in-process and final quality audits through visual, dimensional, and functional checks to verify conformance to assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
• Check work instructions, build travelers, and inspection records for accuracy and completion
• Audit assembly processes for adherence to specifications, workmanship and IPC standards
• Record, classify, and escalate quality issues in real time using the defined QMS tools
• Work closely with engineers and technicians to identify root causes and validate corrections
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and validate rework effectiveness
• Monitor and track key NPI quality metrics like scrap and COPQ
• Provide feedback on design or process issues encountered during audit and inspection
• Assist in training build operators and technicians on quality criteria and defect awareness
What your background should look like
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation
- Basic understanding of defect categorization, rework tags, and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) processes
- Strong attention to details and ability to clearly communicate quality nonconformance findings to both operators and engineers
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry, documentation and reporting (Office)
- 0 – 3 years of hands-on experience in quality inspection or NPI support role
- Experience with hands-on inspection tools (e.g., calipers, microscopes, multimeters)
- HS Diploma or GED is mandatory. Technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical, or Quality disciplines (preferably)
- Proactive and willing to learn
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, high volume, and diverse environment across functions to produce expected results.
- Able to work as business needs requires, which may include overtime, occasional weekends
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds to perform tests.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $50,200 – $75,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
