Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

Footprint
•    Responsible for the sound creation of the ICT footprint strategic roadmap – under strong and close alignment with the Operations leader and the overall ICT Business and Operations Strategy
•    Oversees the execution of the ICT footprint strategy including migrations, integrations of acquired companies and plant shutdowns by guiding a functional team of Transfer Project Managers
•    Lead Core Teams to execute footprint projects globally and delivery desirable results on time.
•    Leading the major transfer projects by supporting the sites involved and the key stakeholders to deliver transfers on time, at the cost expected with improved service levels. Especially, prepare the receiving site to be able for seamless transfers and production continuity. 

Manufacturing Transformation 
•    Lead in conjunctions with plant managers and other stakeholders manufacturing transformation roadmaps to reach operational excellence and improved service levels 
•    Actively participate in global manufacturing strategy and deliberate footprint actions by collaborating across all functions with ICT, as well as non-ICT business units who manufacture on behalf of ICT.
•    Support major ICT manufacturing sites in their transformation efforts (e. g. change of structure, processes, and layout in manufacturing plants) to reach ICT Operational excellence
CapEx & Capacity
•    Utilize expertise techniques to establish footprint financial models, cost database – a series of the estimated cost of items for various regions, processes, activities etc. to standardize expenses and esure consistency and layout playbooks to outline necessary elements. 
•    Conduct feasibility study for potential investment projects incl. business case and execution plan
•    Ensure safe execution of capital projects from conceptual design to handover and commissioning according to Syngenta HSE Standards
•    Gather and analyze inputs from Business Processes including S&OP, LeanPD NPI process, Procurement, Product Management growth projections to understand the Operations capacity required to satisfy business needs
•    Perform trend analysis, estimate overall growth of demand and its associated Operations capacity requirements associate footprint strategy 
•    Partner with ICT Business Unit and Segment leaders to optimize TE manufacturing footprint utilization including creation of cross-business unit capacity sharing models

What your background should look like:

    B.S. degree in electrical, mechanical, or Industrial engineering
    5+ years’ experience in utilizing OpEx, SixSigma and Lean tools/methodologies
    10+ years of proven Operations management experience 
    Strong analytical, strategic, and tactical skills
    Problem solving attitude. Exceptional skill at organizing and prioritizing tasks
    Business Acumen – able to connect business needs and operational transformation
    Strong team formation and leadership skills
    Demonstrated ability to motivate all levels of the organization
    Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organization
    Fluent in English and local language both written and spoken
