Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
 
•Strategic Vision and Market Benchmarking: Lead the development of a comprehensive strategic roadmap for commodity sourcing. Leverage deep market intelligence to benchmark against industry leaders and identify opportunities for innovation and cost optimization.
•Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, focusing on long-term partnerships that drive continuous improvement and innovation. Conduct regular business reviews to ensure alignment with TE’s expectations and to address any performance issues proactively.
•Should-cost model approach: based on the commodity knowledge to build the right costing to support material productivity goals and business growth.
•Contract Analysis and Management: Critically assess the current and future state of work (SOW), service level agreements (SLAs), and NDAs for key contracts. Drive improvements by negotiating terms that reflect best practices and future business needs, ensuring that all contracts align with TE’s strategic objectives and deliver maximum value.
•Stakeholder Collaboration and Influence: Partner with senior leadership across TE to define strategic priorities, ensuring that procurement strategies are aligned with broader business goals. Act as a trusted advisor who provides insights on market trends, potential risks, and opportunities for competitive advantage.
•Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of procurement professionals. Mentor and coach team members to enhance their strategic sourcing capabilities, ensuring that they are equipped to support TE’s ambitious growth objectives.
 Operational Excellence: Implement and oversee rigorous procurement processes that ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency. Utilize advanced procurement tools and analytics to drive decision-making and measure success against key performance indicators (KPIs).
•Develop and ready existing/new suppliers to achieve material, volume, location, and capacity requirements. Ensures supplier audits are completed/passed, and strategizes with QA as required to improve and ensure supplier quality


REQUIREMENTS

•Communication / Dealing with ambiguity: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
•Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the connector or metal/resin/stamping/molding commodity markets, including key suppliers, emerging technologies, and evolving industry practices.
•Technology Proficiency: Advanced skills in procurement software, contract management tools, and analytics platforms.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or Business discipline required
•15+ years of supply chain/operations, 5+ yrs. of Commodity management 
•10+ years of management experience
•Global exposure in previous roles is required
•Graduate degree in business (i.e. MBA) is preferred with Connector industry knowledge being a plus
