Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
Responsibilities & Qualifications


To design and develop High Voltage (HV) products like HV Connectors, Power Distribution Unit (PDU), Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU), Battery Module to Module Connectivity for Electric Vehicles (EV) including buses, trucks, passenger cars and SUV.




  • To design and develop products like HV Connectors, Power Distribution units & Battery disconnect units, Battery Module to Module connection for electric vehicles on electrical design side• Create electric schematics & and selection of components (like, Relays, Contactors, Fuses, High current resistors, Sensors, Busbar) for above products.
  • Understand HV circuits for Electric Vehicle application & work closely with OEMS.
  • Knowledge on EMI/EMC test & Procedures & prevention Techniques.
  • Knowledge on Printed Circuit boards (PCB) design & development will be added advantage.
  • Independently conduct design reviews (Electrical / Thermal), ability to check and approve product designs and drawings (3D & 2D)
  • Responsible for creating design validation test specifications, deciding electrical test methods and conducting validations test at test lab.
  • Drive product costing & Value Engineering (VA/VE) analysis.
  • Responsible prepare, monitor, update & maintain all engineering documentation in line with TS 16949
  • Able to perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FEMA) on the New Product Design
  • Responsible to drive Automotive Product Development Process.
  • Conduct DFM Design for Manufacturability
  • Ensure Periodic Design Reviews among the CFT team
  • Interact with sales / marketing team on techno-commercials proposals.




  • B.E/ B.Tech (Electrical Engineering)



  • 6+ years of experience in power electronics design new product development (Preferably in Electric Vehicle area)
  • Extensive transnational working experience to leverage partnering with TE competency centers and using TE processes to bring Hybrid Electric Mobility Solution (HEMS) capability into India.
  • Expertise in Design FMEA (DFMEA) for High Voltage Electric Components.
Technical Competencies
  • Working experience in Automotive OEM’s or any other industry dealing with high power electronics / electrical product portfolio.
  • Design know-how of power supply and power distribution for Electric Vehicles
  • Design know how of high voltage circuit protection and safety.
  • Design experience High voltage Connectors, Power Distribution units & Battery disconnect units , Battery Module connectivity for automobiles
  • Knowledge on Electro Thermal Analysis & Thermal Management Techniques.
  • Knowledge on smart PDU’s used in automotive or other applications
  • Experience on creation of engineering BOM, process flow design, cost estimation.
  • Application Knowledge on High Voltage Connectors, high voltage Cables, charging Inlets, Electrical Contactors, Relays, High current Fuses.
  • Hands on experienced in generating multiple High voltage (200-1000V) electrical design concept and validating the generated design. concepts through DFMEA, Design reviews, Thermal Analysis, FEA analysis, prototyping, etc.
  • Deep knowledge in Electro Thermal Analysis thru FEA software’s & recommend design improvements.
