Job Overview
The Materials Planning Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring that delivery deadlines and customer-required quantities are met, while maximising the use of production resources and taking stock constraints into account. The role is also a key driver of continuous improvement within their area of responsibility.
Job Requirements
- Reviews the order book and defines MPS (Master Production Schedule) objectives for the production line.
- Communicates clearly with internal stakeholders and provides timely updates.
- Collects information from production and relays it to Customer Service as needed.
- Serves as a key link between Production and Customer Service.
- Plans and coordinates production activities across units and ensures component availability.
- Manages priorities for assigned product lines and contributes to the Production Programme.
- Participates in Capacity/Load and Value Stream meetings.
- Updates planning parameters within integrated systems (e.g., SAP).
- Escalates and communicates customer requirements to ensure on‑time shipment.
- May perform procurement or subcontracting tasks depending on the logistics flow.
- Follows up on customer escalations and quality alerts, leading relevant action points.
- Understands the full production process and proposes improvements to logistics flows.
- Independently organises production plans, including LOBs, and provides logistics updates.
- Contributes to continuous improvement projects (e.g., production flow optimisation, SAP settings).
- Works with support teams (Methods, Engineering, Supply Chain) to resolve order‑book issues.
- Organises meetings with internal/external partners and documents outcomes.
- Monitors OTD (On-Time Delivery) performance and provides performance analysis for their area
What your background should look like
- Proficiency in Excel
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- English
- Knowledge of production management
- Strong communication skills
- Higher education in Planning/Production Management, or equivalent experience demonstrating the required knowledge
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- May be required to train others depending on expertise
