Job Overview

The Production Cell Supervisor supervises and provides leadership to multiple Cell Leads to ensure production remains on schedule by monitoring and prioritizing work orders so that customer requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Review the daily Production Order List Report and assign production orders to work cells.
  • Prioritize work orders based on due dates, daily Hot List, customer orders, and stock orders.
  • Supervise, develop, guide, and train team members in the proper operation of equipment and manufacturing processes; ensure tasks are assigned based on individual capabilities.
  • Schedule continuous production orders and stage components for multiple work orders daily.
  • Work with Cell Leads to expedite and coordinate products for immediate shipment or inventory.
  • Ensure production orders within cells are set up and manufactured in accordance with route/TAKT times; ensure deviations from BOMs or routes do not occur without engineering approval.
  • Maintain quality of products produced within work cells.
  • Review first-piece inspections for finished products with Cell Leads to verify compliance with engineering drawings and sign off on finished goods.
  • Close work orders.
  • Maintain scrap reporting and other quality tools to improve internal and external product quality.
  • Implement Lean methodologies across supervised work cells, including TAKT time, 5S, PM, and SQDC metrics.
  • Review daily cell metrics using SQDC methodologies.
  • Work with the Plant Manager to complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting as needed.
  • Lead and participate in daily SQDC reviews and GEMBA walks as required.
  • Oversee and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the cell.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on all process-related changes for existing products, including tooling tests.
  • Use 5S and pull system/lean methodologies to ensure required tooling and gauges are located in the appropriate cell.
  • Perform cycle counting as needed.

What your background should look like

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand documents written in English, including blueprints, drawings, and SOPs.
  • CNC machining experience and working knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication preferred.
  • Experience managing in a Lean manufacturing environment and using continuous improvement methods.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems (Business Central, SAP).
  • Intermediate Excel skills preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience using equipment such as micrometers, calipers, air and power tools, rulers, tape measures, and gauges.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $76,400 – $95,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
