Job Overview
The pace of innovation in artificial intelligence and machine learning continues to accelerate, and the Data and Devices Business Unit is at the center of this transformation. Our customers are building intelligent systems that redefine how data is processed, analyzed, and used across compute, networking, and cloud infrastructure. At TE Connectivity, we support this evolution by delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions that enable next-generation products.
We are seeking a Solutions Architect to define and lead the architecture of software, AI/ML, and digital solutions that support product development, engineering productivity, and business transformation. This role will partner closely with engineering, product, digital, and business teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, secure, and production-ready solutions.
This position requires deep technical expertise, strong systems thinking, and the ability to influence across functions. The successful candidate will shape technical roadmaps, define end-to-end solution architectures, and guide execution across multiple initiatives to ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, enterprise standards, and long term platform needs.
What you will be doing…
As a Solutions Architect, you will provide technical leadership for complex, cross-functional initiatives involving software platforms, AI/ML capabilities, data pipelines, and engineering tools. You will work across teams to define architecture, establish technical direction, evaluate tradeoffs, and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and integrated into broader enterprise and engineering workflows
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture and Technical Strategy
- Define end to end architecture for software, AI/ML, and digital engineering solutions aligned to business and technology priorities.
- Translate product, engineering, and operational requirements into scalable architecture blueprints, integration patterns, and implementation plans.
- Drive technical strategy for complex initiatives spanning applications, data, models, infrastructure, and system integration.
- Evaluate architecture alternatives and recommend solutions based on scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and business value.
- Develop technology roadmaps that support both immediate program needs and long term platform evolution
Cross Functional Technical Leadership
- Partner with software, hardware, systems, product, manufacturing, and digital teams to align architecture decisions with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Serve as the key technical advisor on major initiatives, ensuring alignment across functions, vendors, and development teams.
- Influence senior stakeholders on architecture direction, technical tradeoffs, investment priorities, and implementation sequencing.
- Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical decision making across multiple programs and workstreams.
- Drive consistency in architecture standards, design principles, and reusable solution patterns across the organization.
Delivery Enablement and Execution Support
- Guide teams through solution implementation to ensure architecture integrity from concept through deployment.
- Support the integration of AI/ML models, software components, data pipelines, and enterprise systems into production environments.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints early, and define mitigation strategies to support execution success.
- Work closely with development teams to resolve complex design issues and unblock critical technical decisions.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, quality, compliance, and security expectations.
Architecture Governance and Operational Excellence
- Establish architecture governance processes, technical standards, and review mechanisms for solution quality and consistency.
- Promote best practices in software design, system integration, data architecture, model deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, cybersecurity requirements, and operational support models.
- Drive continuous improvement in tools, methods, and architecture practices to improve speed, quality, and reusability.
- Contribute to vendor selection, technical evaluations, and external partner engagement where needed.
Innovation and Business Impact
- Identify opportunities to apply software, AI/ML, and digital technologies to improve engineering productivity, product performance, and business processes.
- Shape high-value use cases and guide their technical realization into measurable business outcomes.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, architecture patterns, and industry trends relevant to TE’s products and digital ecosystem.
- Champion pragmatic innovation by balancing technical ambition with delivery feasibility and business priorities.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree and 13+ years of experience, or Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in solution architecture, software engineering, systems architecture, or digital platform development in complex product or technology environments.
- Strong technical background in software architecture, cloud or enterprise platforms, data systems, and system integration.
- Experience defining and deploying end-to-end solutions that span applications, data, analytics, and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML-enabled solutions, data pipelines, model integration, and production deployment practices.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional technical initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Proven ability to influence across functions and communicate architecture decisions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex systems and make sound technical tradeoff decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel 10% to 25% to customers, conferences, partner locations, and TE development sites
